Love Flowers. He is so tenacious. Very good technique, and surprising explosion. It just shows that the 40 is overrated at the combine. I'd like to have two of him, honestly. I hope he's a Patriot for life, because he fits our profile for hardworking, dependable, selfless players.

Walker from FSU reminds me so much of Flowers. I know some of my esteemed friends in the draft forum don't like him very much, but I see another grinder. Neither are the biggest or the best athlete, but they play all over the line and give maximum effort.

That's the problem with Chandler Jones. Nobody gives a damn if you have a great september. And let's be honest he wasn't even that great of a passrusher when he was hot.
He wasn't the type of guy who could bring constant pressure for 60 mins.

And he was still worth every penny of his rookie salary. No way I would pay market value for him though.

His sack on 2nd down at the New England 22 was one of the 2 biggest plays of the game. It pretty much took Atlanta out of FG range.
If ATL gets 3 on that drive...we may be screwed.

Well, he's a DE at a DE weight. He's just dominant rushing from the inside. The only way I see extra weight helping is if he becomes a fulltime 3 down DT.... which he could probably handle, but I say if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

.... and yes, I definitely agree with the 10+ sacks.
He could never get big enough to play 3 down DT here.

Flowers statistically was good at creating negative plays in the run game in college but he didn't pop out as a "superstar" imo. But he has traits we can look for in future pass rushers. He is strong and has unnaturally long arms. Some people overlook arm length but I think it shows how guys rarely slip out of his grasps unlike Ninkovich for example. I honestly feel Ninkovich would be elite if we could slightly stretch out his limbs lol.

His sack on 2nd and 12 from our 24 was a more impressive play than Hightower's strip sack. I love HT but if Freeman isn't staring off into space thinking about nekkid girls or whatever I don't know if we get that strip sack.

Flowers' sack on that drive was huge because it forced them to throw on 3rd down because they were in long FG range and then there was a holding call that pushed them out of FG range that would have made it an 11 point game with like 4 mins left.

Best line of the day yesterday was Gronk yelling, "We had a gift for Matt Ryan! And his name is Trey Flowers!
