TreVeyon Henderson Named Offensive Rookie Of the Month For November

Similar size and speed, but they are not similar in playing style. Henderson is nowhere near as elusive as Gibbs, Henderson tries to beat you with straight line speed, whereas Gibbs beats you with jukes, and once he gets into the open, he’s gone. Both are strong for their size. Gibbs reminds me of a super fast Curtis Martin. Martin had excellent elusiveness. Henderson reminds me of James Cook.
I’d just say Gibbs walked into one of the best offenses and easily one of the best offensive lines in the NFL. Conversely Henderson walked into one of the youngest teams in the NFL with four out of five offensive linemen new to the team. Guys like David Montgomery did the heavy lifting when Gibbs was a rookie and he could take advantage of that.

Consider that if Henderson finishes this season at the pace he’s at, his rookie stats will mirror Gibbs rookie stats. These two guys could be brothers… we just need our offensive line to keep improving and need Josh to be better scheming the run game. Since Henderson’s ascendancy McD has been employing and running more out of spread formations…. he should have been doing that all along, even Rhamondre would benefit from that.

Can bradberry and Wilson unleash beast mode after bye week .

We only had 2 previous winners? wow
Yeah it's pretty amazing how TB12 somehow managed to win 6 Superbowls here without being surrounded by elite skill position talent.

Outside of Gronk I can't think of an elite skill position player that the Patriots drafted and developed in house in the past 15 years.

Hopefully Henderson develops into an elite RB. We'll see but he definitely has shown off homerun speed that we've never really seen at that position before.

The second tight end drafted two rounds after Gronk? He who shall not be named was also an elite TE.

Yeah the criminal doesn't really count. He ended his own career early. We all know how that story went.

Brady had very good talented weapons around him... consider they didn't win it with Moss in 2007.

He had very good offensive lines, good teams overall around him.

When they won it all those defenses were elite or close to it. It takes a team, offense alone isn't enough.

Notice I said drafted and developed in house in my statement. Moss was not drafted and developed in house, he was a trade acquisition.

In terms of elite position players to surround Brady he never had those guys in house.

Deion Branch was good but never considered an elite player.

Even the great Julian Edelman, who played awesome for us in the playoffs wasn't considered elite by his contemporaries due to athleticism.

The only guy we can point to as a downright elite physical freak developed by the Patriots is Gronk.

Brady still managed to win 6 Superbowls with Gronk as the only elite talent he got to play with.

If we consider what might be the true X factor in our offense to help Brady, it's probably Dante Scarnecchia and his ability to mold perhaps physically average OL into an excellent unit that consistently protected TB12.

Dante's retirement and the decline of the Patriots offense afterwards was not a coincidence.

Very true. Good observation.

LOCK UP DOUG MARRONE FROM NOW UNTIL HE RETIRES, STAT!

Elite slot receivers and tight ends, always had good RB’s and WR’s… bottom line is with Scar he almost always had very good to great O-Lines. With Belichick he had very good to great defenses. We had a very good offensive line in 2021, it wasn’t all bad.

I would say more precisely that there was some decline after he left, but it wasn't until his methods weren't being used anymore, after the departures of Cole Popovich and Carmen Bricillo, that things truly fell apart.
