You aren’t building a city, you are evaluating whether the guy being on your roster is best for your football team.I get it but we still have to give him at least Two years. Rome wasn't built in a year.
It’s not my job to tell. It’s the coaching staffs and if they haven’t evaluate last years film, met with and coached him, understand why he stunk and can evaluate if there is magically improvement then they aren’t very good at their jobsthank you for clarifying.
So, you think that you will be able to tell from Training Camp is Polk's 2025 play will be as bad as last year?
==========
I won't. I will certainly understand if Polk is traded or cut because Josh doesn't see him fitting into his schemes.
Personally, I think that Polk was 3rd round talent last year and had terrible coaching and should be given a 2nd year develop. Giving up on 2nd-4th round WR's after one year with Josh coming just doesn't seem right.
I understand but we had the Worst Coaching too *Mayo and others* he has that going for him.We don’t have to give him 2 years. You aren’t building a city, you are evaluating whether the guy being on your roster is best for your football team.
He was literally the worst ever receiver when you compare production to playing time and role.
Speaking about Evaluations: Doug Marrone is Evaluating second year man Caedan Wallace as a LG.It’s not my job to tell. Keeping a guy around because you doubt want to admit a draft mistake helps no one.
It’s not mysterious. Players don’t hide their ability then one day just become good. The primary reason we were bad last year was because we were terrible at evaluating football players. Almost everyone we acquired was a disappointment, other than the QB the world agreed we had to take. Why would you waste another year on that evaluation?
It seems EVERYONE but Mayo/Wolf knew Wallace was not a Tackle before that draft.Speaking about Evaluations: Doug Marrone is Evaluating second year man Caedan Wallace as a LG.
You can tell HE was a REACH pick: I haven't heard anything about Layden Robinson thus far. Siddy Sow Sow is another one: all that Draft capital with borderline NFL players in return. It seems EVERYONE but Mayo/Wolf knew Wallace was not a Tackle before that draft.
@Steve102 get your pom poms ready.Like hearing about Polk and Baker: they have so many fans pulling for them here.
When a WR comes out of college with 3rd or 4th round level talent, sometimes he needs to be evaluated by coaches who know what they are doing..Why would you waste another year on that evaluation?
I'm with you on that one Papei've been hard on Polk... have basically forgotten about Baker... but if they turn it around, and contribute in a positive way, then good on them... would welcome them (back) to New England with open arms... would love to be proven wrong in this case...
EVERYONEIt seems EVERYONE but Mayo/Wolf knew Wallace was not a Tackle before that draft.
Right, it's just that the numbers are getting hard because there are only so many roster spots and they drafted a new WR, have an undrafted WR they like, and brought in a WR free agent they like. I think they should give Polk and Baker a second year to develop, but I'm just not sure they're going to show enough in camp to earn it.When a WR comes out of college with 3rd or 4th round level talent, sometimes he needs to be evaluated by coaches who know what they are doing.
I am 100% fine with him being cut. HOWEVER, I expect that consensus was right and Polk has enough talent to justify trying to develop him. You think that we can tell that he is the worst pick evah by watching him play on one of the worst offenses evah.
We simply have to wait and see what Vrabel does. If he keeps Chism or Baker instead, I'll come here and admit I was wrong.
Yep...or a 6-7th rd pick.Strange might end up getting traded for backup LT or RT .
