Is the OL better with Wilson at C or LG? I believe C, but the team apparently has him at LG.

Shouldn't it be more like what is Wilson's best position?

He's a rookie.

If he's really good, let him get him feet wet at the position he's most comfortable.

Diggs / Douglas / Boutte / Williams / Polk / Baker. Hollins starts on PUP. Chism goes to PS but gets a couple game day elevations as primarily as a special teamer, eventually gets called up to full 53. Bourne gets traded.
My how the turntables have... turned tabled...

Polk & Baker already getting slingshotted onto the 53 with 2 okay camp practices. I mean, I'm always extremely hesitant to give up on our endless list of wishful WR draftees. But, I would never trade Bourne for one of these guys! Not yet.
Bourne isn't a rockstar, but he's a solid vet. Last 8 games - 24/270/1TD (on an imploding team)
That should pace for at least 50/550/2TD in a full season, removed from ACL.
That's good for a #4/5 WR. I can't trust Polk to do that. And Baker is a total flyer right now.
The best thing about Bourne - he is the energy & character leader of that room. (Diggs is not)
For Pop & Boutte to thrive the way they should, Bourne could really be an important vet. For Williams too.

Way too early to get excited about Polk or Baker. That said, we still have over a month until week 1. If (huge if) either or both can keep the momentum going, I would not be heart broken to see Bourne go. Good dude for sure, but he is what he is and he's not getting younger. I think we've seen his ceiling and it wasn't all that impressive. Certainly not ready to kick him to the curb yet, but I will not be surprised one bit if he's not here week 1.

It's a little early for Baker.

If he doesn't flash in preseason Baker's another one who highly likely would be unclaimed.

He had 12 yards last year.
Yeah, I am making an assumption that his camp flashes translate to preseason flashes. If not then you are likely correct.

Polk realistically should have a decently high floor with halfway decent coaching, last season is likely an anomaly. I think he probably makes the team unless something goes wrong, and he carves out a role backing up at Z/slot behind Diggs and Pop. Boutte is the top X with Williams backing him up. Baker will get every opportunity to prove he deserves a roster spot. That all assumes Hollins stays on PUP also.

In a couple years Diggs will be gone and the WR corps could be Williams / Pop / Boutte / Polk, with Williams being the 1. And it might be a solid young group!

Sow seems to be solid at LG and so does Wallace and wilson. Everybody other than Strange . I haven't anything negative or positive about strange this off-season. Not sure what to make of it.
They just reported that Strange was one of the off-season award winners.

By all accounts Strange has been fine and doing his job. Wilson has just been pushing him because he’s looked so good.

Yes, I would prefer one or both of Polk and Baker over Bourne if they can show something in the next few weeks. I hope they do, but obv that is still highly in doubt. Last year's team was a complete ****show top to bottom, so I won't hold that completely against them, but I also won't completely absolve them of blame. Big next few weeks for those 2, hope to see something.

Chism isn't making it to the PS. He'll get scooped up the way Grugier-Hill did.

If he stacks some days and shows out in Preseason I agree 100%. I don't think we can sneak him thru waivers unless he has a really quiet few weeks here.

Chism elevated as a WR?

How many of your 7 WR's do you expect to be active? And Chism is #8.

He'll get lots of opportunities in Game 3 against the scrubs. Some team will likely pick him up if he does well.

To, it is the scrimmages where decisions will be made, not the pre-season games.

A good offensive coordinator does that.
I’ve seen a lot of credit and puff pieces already to raise McDaniels stock. I hope Kraft has a checkbook ready and a fancy new title to make him satisfied,

I think the head coaching bug will bite him again.
I do not think any team will hire him as a HC again
His niche is a OC

I think we also need to remember that this is the time for experimenting. Strange may be written out of the script for the moment so they can see how versatile Wilson is, because there’s a lot of film and familiarity with Strange, much more than there is on Wilson. Do I’m not going to be surprised if what we see late in training camp and for the season opener is totally different from what we’re seeing now. Wilson’s versatility may make him too valuable as a backup for him to be a starter anywhere on the IOL, especially as an unseasoned rookie, for example.

Chism isn't making it to the PS. He'll get scooped up the way Grugier-Hill did.

Gruger-Hill was a draft pick on a super bowl contender with a stacked roster who flashed in pre-season.

Let's see if Chism flashes against ones more than once.

Then you can begin your argument.

I’m digging these tweets. We could use a good surprise addition at CB.
DJ is emerging as a nice surprise at CB. Austin has seemed to be the top CB behind the three starters, but DJ may be giving him a run for that. And I think both Bolden and Dial have been showing something as well. Having Gonzo and Davis sidelined just gives the kids more time to show their stuff. It will be interesting to see who emerges as tops among them.

I expect Campbell and Wilson on our left side(maybe Strange LG) we'll see when we get REAL Competition.
I expect the starting OL will turn out to be Campbell-Strange-Bradbury-Owenu-Moses, with Wilson #1 backup for all three IOL positions. Sow will also rotate with Wilson on the IOL, and Lowe, Bryant, and Wallace will be the other OL on the roster.

I'm a guy that likes Strange, against the crew here.
He's pretty good at LG IMO.
Was he overdrafted? Maybe, he struggled a bit as a rookie, but probably the best we have at LG.
That injury was SERIOUS, I remember that leg whip...he tried to come back too early IMHO
I GUESS we'll see, Wilson is pushing the issue.
COLE will DEFINITELY get a job pretty quickly.
