Yeah...i'm nervous about this. It's not like we have Corey Dillon back there to step in. Jonas "One Game" Grey has more to prove. And who is behind him?

Not much...sounds like he was down on the field for a while....

Hoo hoo hee hee. Jonas "One Game" Gray!

Please. I hate it when people do a "hawt take" without doing their homework.

17-86 against Chicago and 11-62 against Miami. Effectively benched the rest of the time.

The only thing holding back Jonas Gray last year was Belichick.

It looked like a knee when it happened, and he was down for several minutes before he turned over, and it was a few more before he limped off the field. Gray looked pretty good today, and both Cadet and White caught a few out of the backfield.

I do agree. Blount may be a better player right now, but it's simply because of his patience and vision. Jonas Gray is similar to Ridley in a sense, he hits the hole as fast as he can, sometimes it closes before he gets there or he simply misread the blocks.

But he hits it. Fast.

Blount will sometimes pull a Maroney and dance behind the line, unlike Maroney, he has an unnatural ability to make would-be tacklers miss while weighing in at 250.

But when the OL is pounding the opposing team, not saying this OL will do that every game, but it has the appearance of one that could be a strong run blocking crew, then Gray may be a better back as he has better burst off the line. If the OL isn't creating all of the holes for the RB, then Blount will be better, and it won't be close.

Rumor is that Blount has an MCL sprain and will be ready for the start of the season, and is also aided by his suspension giving him an extra week of rest.

I like both guys. I think both should be used in similar, yet different roles. If the OL is ineffective, and we want to see some magic, ride Blount. He'll make yards out of nothing. If the OL is dominating then Gray will give you better yards with his more direct approach.

All the same, I wouldn't be any more surprised to see a split similar to 2013, 800/800/400 or so, whatever it was, between Gray/Blount/3rdRB as I would be to see Blount lead 1100/600/400 or so.

I'm looking forward to more of a ground and pound game this year. We really do have a different kind of roadgrader OL now. Cam Fleming is a monster who now has some experience under him. Mason is a run game specialist who will have to get seasoning in the passing game. Tre Jackson is dropping jaws (both Reiss and Chris Price yesterday - independently of each other - claimed he is the real deal.)

Combine all that with Blount/Gray/Bolden - - that's three punishing runners and then a 3rd down back (either White or Cadet) and Develin. Add in we now have a legit two TE threat (and two guys who can BLOCK). I'd say the Pats are definitely built to smack the living hell out of the Colts even more than last year.
