I agree -- but that can't happen due to the franchise rules, correct? Once a player signs the franchise contract he can't renegotiate?

True. Except they have until July 15th to sign a LTD. After that he must play for the the Tag for that year.

After giving this some thought, there are only 2 teams that could make a trade for Wes Welker and it would be huge for one of these 2 teams. It would be well worth the $9 million tag for this season because it would greatly improve a SB victory for one of these two teams....

and I'm pretty sure these 2 teams could come to terms with Welker for a multi year contract after this season. The 2 teams are.... The 49'ers and Broncos! Welker would be huge for those 2 teams and if he got traded to one of those teams I would be down to the casino the same day putting money on that team to win it all.

I'm pretty sure BB knows this so don't expect WW to be leaving NE.
