Guess it depends how they feel about the QB. This team needs a #1 receiver also, and some new tackles, a 3rd down RB. And who knows if Hunter Henry re-signs here

If you are taking a QB just because you need one and not because you feel they are going to succeed then it's a bad decision.

Also depends if we end up with a top 5 pick or screw ourselves here at the end of the season and drop out of contention for a top QB

That third pick in the draft can net the first 12 picks in the 4th Round.

and those 12 picks in the fourth round can net 12 special team picks

Yeah. At 2nd OA, you need not move much draft capital, if at all, to get the guy you want.

At 4th/5th, you don't know if there's above you will take a QB. Meaning, you have to spend assets to.move up to guarantee your selection.

For instance, if Washington drafts ahead of you, there is no way of knowing whether they would take a QB or keep Howell.

is there any real consensus that maye & williams are actually the top 2 QBs when it comes to NFL success?

i'm ok with a 1st round QB, if they are also able to address WR, T, C, TE through FA & draft (there's defensive needs, also, but.....)......but I'm not sold on that 1st round QB necessarily being Williams or Maye

After last night's win, if we're lucky we'll get the 3rd pick:
- I think we'll lose the next 3 vs KC-Denv-Buff, but win the finale at home vs the Jets, giving us a 4-13 record
- Carolina may win 1 more, so 2-15 record, #1 pick (owned by the Bears)
- Ariz may win 1 more, so 3-14, #2 pick

Of the teams with 4 wins currently:
- Washington may lose out, finishing 4-13 like us, but they beat us head to head so I think we'd get the 3rd pick
- the Jets will hopefully beat Washington at home to get to 5-12
- the Bears will hopefully beat AZ at home to get to 5-12
- the Giants have GB and the Rams at home - win one to get to 5-12
- Tenn has Hou and Sea at home - win one to get to 5-12

But if any of the Bears-Giants-Titans lose out, we'd end up in a group of 4-win teams and potentially be picking 4th, 5th, 6th, depending on tiebreakers. I do think the Jets will beat Wash at home. Of course, if we lose all our remaining games, then we're picking 2nd or 3rd.

Biggest problem - do we trust BB to pick a #1 QB?
What does he really know about evaluating college QB's? Really nothing.
It's been covered ad nauseam - he didn't like Brady coming out. He didn't see some hidden gem. It was his staff.

What he can draft are future NFL coaches. QB-turned-WR's, or media guys - Klif, O'Connell, Cassel, Edelman, Meyers, Hoyer (just wait)

He won't have the final say on who picks the QB imo. He will be told by Kraft whether to pick William/Maye at the top two slots.

And I don't think he will have GM duties anymore to begin with. Which likely means he leaves.

Right now Daniel’s and Maye are the most interesting to me, but that win probably cost them a shot at either.

Arizona already has 3 wins.

Minus 4 inches
Last night, did you see Corky 10 year old staring down at the ground with the team winning. Miserable B.

He couldn't be happy for the other guys who work hard every week to try and win.

Take the Quarterback.

I would go one step further. I'd trade up with Chicago to secure the number 1 overall pick if we wind up with the 2nd overall (They have Carolinas first round pick). Nip those claim jumpers also looking for a QB in the bud.

play sack jones next year let him take the weekly beatings while we continue to rebuild, then jettison him after your rookie has a red shirt season.
I don't want to see Mac under center again.

Arizona already has 3 wins.
thanks I forgot they beat Pitt. The only likely win for both Arizona and Chicago is when they play each other in Chicago in a couple of weeks. If Chicago wins, then AZ finishes 3-14 and probably the #2 pick. If AZ wins, then they have 4 wins, same as what us and Washington would have. If Chicago also loses all their other games (somewhat likely), they would join the group of 4-win teams.

Trade back. We need multiple sure things at OT, WR, and it's always good to keep an eye on DT if value is there. This seems like a great year to gamble on a QB later.
I'm coming around to this strategy, although normally I would pick a QB knowing its a crap shoot. We had Plunkett and Bledsoe, not sure things and had some warts. I'm a big Bledsoe fan but he didn't have the anticpation. If he had TB's mind he would have been the greatest. I digress. I do like Daniels a lot, but other than him, I think there might be some lower first, early second candidates. We don't need an all pro, just some level of competence.

My preferences:

1. Caleb Williams
2. (Williams gone) Take Harrison then trade up for Jayden Daniels if he's between 10-30
3. (Williams and Harrison gone) Trade down if someone is going to pay up for Drake Maye, then take Daniels.

Arizona already has 3 wins.

The problem is that the Patriots had the toughest schedule in the league going into the season, and that’s a tiebreaker for draft position. Easier schedule gets the higher pick.

Zona is already at 3 so a win would give them 4.

If there’s a group of 4 win teams at the end it will go by easiest to hardest SoS for draft order.

Daniels may well end up the 1st pick. I don’t Williams. Size and ego are an issue, he reportedly wants a piece of the team that drafts him.
