Not a good day for LT...Mayo laid him out pretty nicely too.

The guy is so annoying....during his charger days it was almost like he felt he deserved a ring to be given to him. On sunday too...runs for a 1st down and celebrates like an idiot.

Yeah that celebration thing when you make the catch or run for a first down is so YETS. Holmes does it, this clown does it and now Plax is doing it too and for all the posturing, they LOSE.

Tomlinson really annoys me and now Burress is getting to be in the same league. Somebody needs to tell that guy to be more humble, because, HE SHOT HIMSELF IN THE LEG. You can catch a football but you really have no brains, so tone down the stupidity.

As for Holmes, he's all about himself, so how they ever made him a Captain is way beyond me.

Thanks for letting us know that you've never played football competitively outside of backyard games with your friends in your life. DB's (not douchebags, defensive backs) are taught from the time they first start playing football to tackle bigger runners down low as tackling them high usually results in extra yards added onto the play. Ya know... because they're bigger and all?

Down low does not mean only hit at the knees. Its cheap, just like many on here were pissed off when Sander hit Hernandez in the knees.

if you look at the pictures in this thread and the game it's preaty clear he was below his knees closer to his ankles

Earthwind Moreland has a Superbowl ring and he doesn't!

When a runner that runs a 4.5 40 and is bigger than you is coming right at you looking to lower his shoulder, you don't really have a lot of time to say, "gee, well I can't hit him in the knees, so what should I do?". All you know is that you have to take him down and the best way to do that is go for the legs. Sometimes the knee gets bent in a way that causes injury. That's not dirty, that's football.

I like seeing Edelman contribute at DB, and if opposing players are worried about getting a knee taken out while he's on the field, well, that's football.

looked like a good tackle to me

you can't control all the time, where you're gonna deliver the hit, everything's moving pretty fast

this is the same reason i loathe all these bs helmet to helmet penalties i see where it's just the o player moving his head at the last second

I agree with this. You see these types of tackles all the time. A better athlete then Her Whineness would have hurdled him and picked up another 15 yards.

knowshon moreno did on sunday (hurdled) and still found a way to tear his acl later in the game

injuries happen .......

osi umenyiora lost a whole season once on a total non contact injury

plax was doing it long before the jets

remember he's the guy who spiked a ball after a first down, while with the steelers

problem was the ball was live lol

does anyone have video of the hit?

does anyone have video of the hit?

I have been looking for this on youtube but have not been able to find it. Even if he (Tomlinson) wasn't hurt it was a great hit, and can't beleave it isnt up somewere.

LaDainian Tomlinson - New York Jets - 2011 Player Profile - Rotoworld.com

Yikes. Damaging first tackle for a QB turned WR turned CB.

Before anyone objects, let me throw in the disclaimer that I never root for nor take glee in opponent's getting injured, if for no other reason than potential negative karma, but I thought this item was simply news worthy.

I agree with you about not rooting for injuries but after watching the Giants/Pats game in a sports bar on Long Island and hearing dozens of Jets/Giants fans openly (and loudly) rooting for a Brady injury, I think it might be alright to allow ourselves to enjoy LT's demise.

As I said in the Denvah game thread, Edelperson gets Honorable Mention kudos for the Denver win because he KOed Lady T thus robbing The Sanchize of his cheap & easy swing pass outlet valve. The Lady is a good pass blocker too. I mean was.
