Tom Brady body shamed on social media

That looks terrible.

It's the TB method, IMO. Remember Alex G. was telling Gronk to "not do squats" and during the Tom vs. Time documentary...Edelman was saying he would never stop lifting weights when talking to Brady/Amedola.

I don't care if Brady has a pot belly as long as he throws for 466+ yards in the Superbowl like he did the last 2 years......amazing...
Squats are fine but when you start going "a** to grass" is when it's bad for you.

Sadly people can be so cruel you know. I get body slammed at times.

Back in the day, Sonny Jurgensen, a pretty fair NFL quarterback who made the Hall of Fame, had a pot belly that would put most barflies to shame.

I think this is great and also the hype about Jimmy. This may push Brady to put away his difference with BB to win the next one.

Word of the day... "pliability".

The guy was voted by his peers as the best player in the entire league...twice, at ages 39 and 40. Who gives a #### about abs?

Regards,
Chris

I saw a headline today where Joe Thomas has already lost 50 lbs since retiring this spring. My first thought was good for him; wish I could do the same. The 2nd thought was it’s too bad he couldn’t have played out his career at 270 and not 320 lbs like John Hannah did 30 years ago.

NFL players have gotten too big like WWE wrestlers in the 80s. Except the NFL tests for drugs, so most the excess size comes from excessive training and weight lifting. It sure to hell hasn’t helped the quality of the play. It would help if everyone spent less time in the weight room and more time on the practice field.

And, it’s not good for the players either. The year round training takes a toll on their bodies as does the collisions with other excessively large players. Perhaps, the NFL in it’s attempts to improve player’s safety and health might want to consider imposing weight limits by position on it’s players.

This is why I root for Tom Brady and Alex Guerrero. I think they are on to something. Guerrero ‘s past is concerning yes, but he’s not been dealing opiates like candy as has the mainstream medical industry. Why again is it controversial to stress eating healthy foods, drinking plenty of water, messaging strained and tired soft tissue, and stressing strong and flexible muscles over big muscles. Why?

Finally, this is such a 21st century, twitter allows a couple of guys, who probably live in their mom’s and stepdad’s basement and work part-time at GNC but full-time at the local gym banging out the weights, a platform to denigrate one of the most accomplished athletes of their day, whose wife is an internationally known beauty, about how he looks with his shirt off.

Dad bod.... but it still the off-season, training camp hasn't started yet

The added mass does help you in the collisions. And depending on your position and how you're built, and your style of play, you may need to add a little, maintain or lean up.

Troy Polamalu was interesting as well. He trained for elasticity, mobility, muscle balance, and explosiveness. There are a few videos probably still out on his training. But he had those Samoan genetics too. And probably didn't want any more mass.

He didn't have the bulging muscled look, he was just athletic.

Joe Kerr's body building tip #1...a Smith& Wesson beats 6 pack abs every day and five times on Sunday

Not a lot has changed since 2000, except he became the GOAT with that body..

You can't see the abs on his heart muscle either.

Beat me to it about Sonny. Also, more recently Dan Fouts comes to mind.
Folks forget. The QB's job is to 1) read the D and react appropriately, and then 2) make the throw.
Aside from the periodic sportswriters' excitement over running QBs, that's the job.

I do feel badly for Tommy boy being body shamed. Not everyone can be a wicked pissah ripped guy.

I blame Hollywood for a lot of this body shaming stuff. Not all men can look like Ryan Reynolds or Thor.

Just talking about being fit, I think it is disingenuous to talk about looking like a guy who works out for 3 hours a day and eats meals prepared by a personal chef and nutritionist. However, with a minimal time commitment and just a little thought put into the food you eat, you can certainly look fit and healthy.

You are basically saying "I can't look like Wolverine, so there is no point in working out and eating healthy" This is a false choice.
