TO was the guy who signed a long term lucrative deal with the Cowboys at around the same age as Moss (it was like 4 years for $8-9 million a year) and he was cut after one year into the year. And he is wondering why the Pats wouldn't give Moss a huge, multiyear contract?
Sorry, Moss wants a big mulityear deal and the Pats don't want to take the risk of him hitting the age wall the first year into it. There are already signs that he is no longer the player he was since he hasn't had over 75 yards in a game since mid-November of last year. When you are a deep threat, you can hit the age wall hard. If he was Jerry Rice type of guy who was more of a shorter route runner and a short to intermediate threat, you are more likely to last longer. The Pats weren't going to take that risk and it looks like the Vikes aren't either. At least not yet.
