There is no issue of money for a a couple of years.

Josh could be an Assistant Coach, with special responsibilities for QB's.

As far as OK, Kraft might or might not want to keep BOB.

In any case, the patriots have had among the fewest number of coaches for years. More help is needed.

I'm honestly tired of this human yo-yo. You're in or out and he picked out too many times imo. Plus he seems like a punk whenever he gets an ounce of power. I envision him like Dwight from the office. Great employee but horrible boss.

Has any 6 billion dollar company ever hired more employees based on how cheap they are cause someone else is paying them more than this one?

If you're free or a friends kids willing to work for 40 grand a year come on in, recycling the same old people is why this operation has gone stale.

At this point it is highly doubtful he will ever be offered another head coaching position (Broncos and Raiders firings, Colts pass).

If the Pats and BoB want to make him the QB coach, fine. Unless the team cleans house and starts fresh with a new GM and new HC, choosing their own completely new staff.

This seems to be the same episode with Bob the last few seasons: complain about the direction the team is going, only to bring back a retread coach with a horrible reputation with what now happened in Las Vegas. He was accused of a lot weird **** in Denver recently by a former OL.

If BB is such a horrible talent evaluator/drafter/FA signer - then why would JMD want to come back and be shackled with that again?
Except that JMD always succeeded here under BB.
Also, why did BOB say he wanted to return a few weeks ago?

And I'm not saying BB is actually good at that. That's my honest question. So, are BOB & JMD really committed to BB?
Are they all hoping to outlast BB and be named successor? Are they desperate for money, and will take any job?

Not interested in Josh at this point. Love his time here but we need to turn to new blood, not rehashing guys over and over. Josh obviously benefited from having Brady the bulk of his career but his time with other teams doesn’t inspire confidence he is as good as a lot of people believe he is.

Nothing wrong with bringing McDaniels back on board if his entire history with the Patriots (and Bill) has been good to great.

Would JMcD or BOB be better at evaluating players?

I am unimpressed with BOB as a play caller, would rather have Josh calling plays, and thus also game planning.

Not sure which of them would be better actually coaching and preparing players during the week. Maybe one of them could do a better job than Klemm at fielding a decent OL. If either of them is an upgrade as OL coach that’s the best and highest use of their talents IMO.

One of them is better as a QB coach for a patriots Offense.

But that is an issue to be solved after Josh is on board. Ditto for Vrabel's role. We often have room for our previous coaches that are being paid by other teams. Hire them as consultants tomorrow, as far as I'm concerned.

Bad coach but really good OC.

Got 7 wins out of one armed cam newton.

And coached Mac jones to 10 wins throwing 22tds and 10picks.

Guy can coach offense no matter what people think. Some guys are better at their niche roles and not big picture stuff/managing

Knows how to beat the Patriots. Not sure if that would help the Patriots in any way.

So in that case as in the case of BB. BOB is the OC/QBs coach so does removing that title void his contract terms? Right now as currently constructed we need players and coaches. It's like starting up an expansion team!

There’s just not time for that with so many coaches being fired so quickly. Would Vrabel have brought back Arthur Smith as a position coach to help struggling OC Tim Kelly? We don’t know because Vrabel is out now too, and Kelly probably isn’t far behind.

The recent obvious example is Matt Nagy going back to the Chiefs as QB coach for a year before being promoted to OC this season. McVay has hired a handful of coordinators that were fired from their previous coordinator jobs. The Rams still have to pay barely acceptable coordinator salaries by rule, but the old team picks up the rest.

It’s also even more common on the personnel side of things. A coach generally has to be in the building on a daily basis, but a fired GM can just work remotely as a “personnel consultant” or something like that.
