Brady's game didn't elevate after Moss' departure, though. Brady's game didn't elevate until after he got embarrassed against the Browns.

Yeah, because with Moss, we weren't averaging 30+ points per game in 2010... :bricks:

Brady looked better last year because he had more weapons, he had a half-decent running game and the biggest one, he was fully healthy until the latter part of the year.

If Randy comes back, I'd welcome his return.

If Randy ends up on the Jets, I welcome McCourty's 4 downfield Interceptions.

Brady would be better with Moss on the team. The type of WR the Patriots lacked last season was a guy who could stretch defenses. Although he may not be the 2007 Moss, he can still stretch defenses and attract attention from defenses. This is what the Patriots need to get their WR's open and into space. Welker would get more catches than he did in 2010 because teams wouldn't be focusing just on him. This would also help Hernandez's and Gronk's game as well, getting them more space.

I think most people would agree that Moss can still stretch defenses, they just worry about his attitude and whether or not he would be an issue if he wasn't getting as many catches as he would like. I really don't think this would be an issue, and Brady would not force the ball to him. Moss went to two other teams and I think he realized that the "grass really isn't greener on the other side" and he would not be an issue in New England. Moss only has one or two years left and wants to end his career with a ring.

Has Randy ever said he wanted a ring 'cause I can't recall it... After Bill rescued him from the black hole in 2007 he stilll wanted to be one of if not the highest paid receiver in the game again. Last season all he talked about was respect or lack thereof and wanting to know where he was playing the following season...and making money on the backend of his career... I know he doesn't like playing for bad teams, but who does. Other than that all I know is Randy Moss isn't the player he used to be on the field but off it a leopard seldom changes his spots - particularly after more than a decade of displaying them. Same can be said for most diva WR's. What they want is to be relevant, and they will be one way or the other.

It's never 'over' with BB. Weren't most people saying the same things about the 'vet with a substantial salary' they shipped out years ago then brought back for a 3rd rounder?

BB will do whatever it takes to improve the team, and last time I checked, BB has never, ever had anything negative to say about Moss as a player or individual.

Moss was on three teams last year and he did not make one of the QB. There are far better free agents or players eligable for trade out there who can stretch the field at this point. I would rather have Chad OchoCinco than Moss and I am not all that keen on Chad OchoCinco.

At this point, Moss could only be effective as a 5 maybe 10 play a game type of player. In a contract year, he played like crap.

I don't know I just see a different guy when it comes to Moss now and the Patriots. I don't have any quotes to really back up my stance, but I just think a guy so successful in the league as Moss, considered a top-10 WR to play the game, he wants to add a ring and that will finish off a great career. Has Moss ever talked about a team and a coach like he's talked about BB and the Patriots, all I can think of is his PC after the Vikings-Patriots game and I really think Moss finally understood what it was like to be on a team and realized he made a mistake in wanting out. Just my personal opinion, not really factual. I do think he would make the team better though, that is a fact as long as his attitude doesn't get in the way.

If he'd block well, give his all, play a reduced role/stretch the field, and take a very reasonable contract, then I'd be all for it.

Actually, Branch was a WR2, Tate was a 3. I don't know where Moss would fit, but I'd still be extremely surprised if it happened.

You know, as a guy who was PRAYING that we'd Franchise Trade him, after the record setting 2007 Campaign ~ say, to Snyder for 2 consecutive 1st Rounders?? Don't even PRETEND he would've hesitated!! ~ and who RABIDLY opposes building O's around such players...I could definitely see the older, wiser ~ and slower but steadier?? ~ version of Moss actually transmogrifying into a solid ASSET to this team!!

See i agree with this, low contract, has been singing our praises all season long. get him to play some special teams for all i care but if the guy has truly bought into the NE system then i am all for him. The problem for Randy was money and now he probably won't be getting that big contract i think he just wants to play some football.

In saying this, i just don't know where we'd sneak him into the roster? our WR's are Branch, Welker, Tate, Price and Edelman. Edelman and Tate automatically make it as our best 2 return men. But I will say this, underestimate Randy at your peril, everyone was saying the same things in 2007 and you just never know. I mean look at the season on the field TO had last year.
