This article has some decent analysis of how BB and co. manipulate the draft board mixed with a good amount of humor.

LOL the Ponztriots

I admit, I laughed pretty good at this earlier this morning.

Graham can be pretty funny sometimes. Unfortunately his chats tend to be pretty useless unless funny is all you want.

You got to love BB. I was watching the draft thinking we got to get back the 3rd and 5th which we lost from the Burgess trade. Now that was a bad trade on BB's part. So what does he do, a trade here a trade there and presto, we get back our 3rd and 5th with a 2011 2nd rounder thrown in, and we still had 5 picks in the first 3 rounds. The Master

We are absolutely stealing right now.

2 years in a row we've drafted the player I wanted (Butler, McCourty) but I wanted them with the original pick. Each time we traded down twice, got a #3 and still got the player. Three of those #3s were traded for #2s, one got Taylor Price. So from my standpoint, getting the player I wanted anyway, the two extra #2s this year, Price and the Carolina #2 next year were absolutely free. Crazy.

Niice find!
Bill Belichick seems like the kind of schemer who'll find a way to win somebody else's solitaire game.
I love this

By 2016 they'll own the entire second round and 12 picks in the third.

Along with the humor lies homage, especially towards BB's patience, perseverance, and all-around willingness to keep dogging it out. It's also good to once again see some positive (albeit probably grudging lol) BB press.

They spun them into more assets and along the way probably duped the Jacksonville Jaguars into footing the tab for the draft room catering.

Probably true. I love Ponztriots.

It's the advantage (something the Pats didn't have have for the first 30 plus years of their existence) of having a coach who is secure and can plan for the future versus one trying to save his job who is willing to mortgage the future, as in Carolina...

It's simply amazing how little NFL front offices can't follow the concept of trading away a pick if there is no value.

funny stuff. that's great. thanks.
