Ex-Michigan QB Jake Rudock is the NFL draft's renaissance man

I don't watch a ton of college football, but I'm a Michigan fan and the kid really lifted up that team. Familiar with pro-style offenses, played last season for Harbaugh, highly-intelligent, good intangibles, but lacks the arm and athleticism of QBs who are rated above him...hmmmmmm...this sounds familiar...

He might go undrafted or be a late-round pick. Part of me hopes we pick him up in the 6th. We've had good luck with ex-Michigan QBs going late.

Am I just being a homer here?

i haven't watched him, but here you go...

Living in SEC Country, I don't get to watch an overabundance of Michigan football but, in what I have seen of Rudock, he looks like a smart quarterback that can process what the defense gives him quickly and makes sound decisions. The arm is a valid concern, though. Even more than Brady's when he came out. Watch some tape on Rudock. Even throws that go 12-20 yards, he appears to have to put a lot of effort behind the throws in order to put any sort of zip on them. His throws to the left side of the field (which, admittedly, are going to be his weakest throws regardless) tend to have a lot of air under them too. Those throws can easily turn into INT's in the pros.
