This would be funny - Luck pulls an Elway (aka an Eli)

Well,it may have been the wrong thing to do to those teams that drafted them, but look at the two QBs that did it....Eli and Elway with a combined 4 Super Bowl Championships and 4 rings with 2 for each of them.

They made the right choices......it is unlikely SD wins a SB or the Baltimore Colts win one let alone 2 had they stayed on their teams that originally drafted them.

And another ring or maybe more could be heading Eli's way before he retires,Eli has come a long way out from under his brother's shadow and is definitely in or at least heading towards Elite status.

is that what we're teaching the children of today though? that you can act like you are bigger than the sport as long as you win a title?

It's unfortunate, but yes,the reality is that it is more about Money,Fame and Championships than it is about Morale in today's society, including the sports world.

i think that would be horrible

i thought the same about elway and eli when they did it

no player is bigger than the game, and those guys thought they were

of course they did both get multiple superbowl rings, even though it took elway over 15 years, so there's that for luck to think about, i guess
Its not about being bigger than the game, its about doing what is best for you.
Those franchises were pathetic. "The game" is about using the leverage that you have when you have it. Those players were wanted, and they used their leverage. It took the Colts most of Elways career to become anything other than a joke of a franchise and while SD turned it around more quickly, they were in the same boat.
By your argument when Peyton Manning went back for his Sr year to avoid being chosen by the Jets, then he wasn't playing by the rules of the game.

Considering Colts are dumping their whole team I wouldn't be surprised either...

Who said there's no Divine Intervention in football!
Thank God!

im pretty sure they talked to he's agent befor they cut Manning to see if he will play for them

That was then
This is now
Sobering thoughts for a young QB being faced with a disastrous franchise cutting all its contracted players
Nobody has signed anything so far

Plus, it's f***in Indianapolis. You could live and play in the sun belt, and/or in a city with endorsement and night life, or near home. But nooooo, you get sent to Indiana. I'd be tempted to test the indentured servitude aspect of the draft if I were him. Why shouldn't he get to decide where he works like the rest of the employed population in this country?

I'm not sure it matters that much where he lives. He's like to have a personal chef, so restaurants aren't that big a deal. He'll have a very active sex life, if he chooses, wherever he is. He has plenty of time in the offseason to travel.

And while it will hurt him a bit in the pocketbook to have to share being Big Man In Town with Peyton, it may also take some pressure off.

Man, it would be so funny if Luck took a look at the Colts and decided they don't know what they are doing and dug his heels in.

Imagine if he said he wouldn't play for the Colts! That would be gold, Jerry.

It would just be another example of an a------ athlete inflating his already massive ego. I have to say, each year that goes by I lose more interest in sports. Too many egotistical pricks.
