“There’s 17 crews and we got ‘em all and I don’t think any of ‘em are noticeably one way or the other,” he said. “Each game has its own dynamics and close calls. Some go one way, some go another way. Overall, I think they do a pretty good job of balancing the crews out. However they do it, I don’t know, it’s not really my thing. They’re professional and overall they do a pretty good job. Not perfect, like all of us.”

Once again, BB sticks to the high road.

People are reacting. I talk to people who are long time fans. 40+ yrs..etc.

Viewership is dropping, and will continue.
Then the sponsors will drop.

FYI NASCAR viewing is down about 17% and they have had few controversies..

The top rated TV shows last week were; Seahawks/Eagles, Washington/Dallas and the Big Ten Championship...

Golf ratings are also down significantly ..

Baseball ratings are down..

What might be suggested here are peoples viewing habits have changed.. watching sports seems to be down overall...

To suggest that the NFL ratings decline is a stand alone issue is erroneous..

pete morelli's 2015 crew:

pete morelli's 2017 crew:

other than morelli himself, everyone on his crew is different. the 2015 article has no relevance to this year.
.

Well, this is a pretty clear illustration of the problem. This isn't their damn job.

A $10bn a year business that can afford to pay its "CEO" tens of millions in salary and benefits can't afford to pay professional, full-time officials or install goal-line cameras for replays.

The majority of NFL franchise owners really are a different breed from the rest of us.

Why complain about something over which you have no control, especially when complaining can only make matters worse by ticking off the guys you're complaining about?

There are many reasons that Belichick is so successful. Many of them are related to his favorite expression, "It is what it is." This is one of them.

hahaha i knew morelli's crew was assigned, i was looking for an article to link

should have paid more attention, but his crew really is assigned monday

Two years ago
Yes, please don't confuse me any more than I already am! Kidding aside, I wonder who the refs are going to be on Monday night?

Edit - whoops - should have read Yukon's post right above mine. Looks like we got one of Joker's favorites! And right after his other favorite, Gene Steratore!

God help us.

I can see that.
But, in my personal experience with family, friends and acquaintances, there are a large number "saying" they aren't watching at all or at least watching a lot less.

Because of the protests, refs..., and the way the arrogant league itself ,is run.

No matter what the polls say.

i find people talk out of their ass a lot, especially when they post crap on social media

i swaer my father in law tends to post memes that contradict themselves (mostly political stuff) all day long lol

i know a lot of people that have given up fantasy......but i don't know a single person who has actually stopped watching football

Morelli's crews suck, plain and simple whether it is 2015 or 2017. They have a vengeance vs the Eagles. I say that as a lifelong Pats fan with no "dog in the fight". Last 4 Eagles games, it was been 5:1 Eagles penalties and that game vs Carolina this year, Eagles had 140 yds penalties versus 1 penalty and 1 yd for Carolina, both well outside the norm....Last four games .40 Eagles penalties versus 8 for opponents....
Something is not kosher.....

More than 60,000 sign petition to ban Pete Morelli from officiating Eagles games

Think there is also a lot of media misinformation painting a picture that the NFL is the only major sport that is having viewing problems to advance their political agenda.. the facts are much different. All major sports and TV in general are losing viewers.. there is also the reality is that people view television differently than they have had in the past...
