You make a good point. Yet, during the game all I could think of was how was I going to explain this to my Patriot Hater friends at work. If we had lost I was going to say something like, "Sure we lost to the Lions but we are still good. Honest, we are still good. Please believe me."

I had that same thought cross my mind. I joke that the only time anyone around the office talks about the Pats is when they lose (well, actually that's true). Even when they lost to Miami on that Monday night in '04 I could just shrug it off cuz we were still 12-2.
It's easy to say that, but you ignore the fact that those teams aren't exactly powerhouses and themselves have bad games. Every team does, even the Pats of 2003 and 2004. The Pats of today's game could probably beat today's Dolphins (who lost to JAX), or the JAX who lost to Houston at home, or the TEN who got blown out by Dallas at home.
Not enthused about seeing all the Pat-haters today who will want to qualify this win, claiming they should've lost. The reality is we did, and even though I doubted we would win for a while in quarter 3, #12 came back strong in the 4th quarter. I have no need to defend this team to the non believers, look at the standings.
