So what's everyone going to be watching for in tomorrow night's game? Myself, I'm looking forward to seeing how John Lynch does in the Pats' system. Also, I'll be anxious to see how the LB corps looks with Mayo lining up.

Of course since it's still only preseason, there probably won't be much indication of how either of those things will look once the real games start.

What will YOU be watching for?

I doubt Lynch plays.

I would like to see the OL play reasonably well and see flashes from our young guys on defense, Mayo, Meriweather and Wheatley. Others too but those are the three I expect to see a lot of time this year.

Call me taboo but I'll be checking out a guy who's been going under the radar this off-season, Chad Jackson.

I suspect he'll get at least a couple of snaps in.

1. Assuming there's coherent OL protection, can Cassel and Gutz (assuming he plays since he missed game prep Wednesday - I say he plays) make decent decisions and throws that sustain a drive?
2. The log jam for #4 WR. Jackson, CJ Jones (He's BAAAAACK!), Slater and Ventrone will all get reps. Note: contenders Aiken & Washington have not practised. Tremendous opportunity for Jackson to pull away from the lower tier WR competitors.
3. At RB can Jordan continue to look decent? Sammy Morris?
4. Mayo and Hobson at ILB. Can Mayo repeat a strong performance and will the vet Hobson grok the D at ILB? Guyton a challenger to Hobson's roster spot?
5. OLBs Woods & Crable, can they play consistently? Defend the run?
6. CBs with contenders Wilhite, Lewis Sanders & Richardson injured and falling behind, will Wheatley continue his development? is Bryant OK to play & how will he cover?
7. With Harrison not at practise, we might surprisingly see Lynch, although I don't see their in season roles as identical. Is Merriweather developing?

Anyone think Brady plays in this game? I would like to see him for a series, but holding him out until the 3rd game is probably the best thing. If they're still juggling the OL next week, they might as well hold off on playing Brady until the season starts.

To see if Cassel can throw more completed passes than interceptions and if #17 can actually catch a ball thrown 10 or more yards

I'll be watching to see if #12 is standing upright after the final gun.

On top of that, I will watch to see Sammy Morris run, and some of the young lb and db's battle for roster spots.

I've never seen such a bunch of wrongheaded people in my life. This is game 2 of the exhibition season and it's down in Tampa. Each and every one of you should be ashamed of yourselves for missing the only truly important thing to watch during this game:

The Tampa Bay Cheerleaders

I'll be looking for the following:

1.) How Britt (LT) & Kaczur (RT) handle the edge in pass protection. Can they handle the speed & quickness of the Bucs D-line?
2.) How the o-line plays overall and can Yates turn it around after looking overmatched last week vs the Ravens. If not, can Welbourn play well enough to seize the opportunity and grab the starting spot at RG? There seems to be an opening for Connolly to seize a roster spot with Neal and especially Hochstein hurt, can he do it?
3.) How Sammy Morris plays, is he all the way back from his injury and can he get back to last year's form?
4.) Chad Jackson development. He couldn't handle the Ravens man-to-man coverage, can he pick it up and begin to perform to his talent level? Can he improve his route running and be in the right place?
5.) Our young defensive players. Can Mayo, Crable, Wheatley make it two solid weeks in a row?
6.) Special teams, who is on the top unit and how do they perform? This will give us a strong indication of who the players are that will fill out the roster. Guyton, will he be on top team?
7.) Can Spann's solid play in practice actually translate into a game?
8.) Overall I think it will be a good evaluation for our second line players, since most starters won't play long.
9.) Can Cassel and Gutierrez play well? How does O'Connell develop and perform after a pretty solid first performance?
10.) Lastly, hoping everyone comes out of the game injury free.

You presume the director will have his camera men looking in the right direction - most of those bastitchs are calling for player helmet and ankle close-ups and shouldn't be expected to be interested in scantily clad young lassies.

For game two of preseason I'll be looking for improved "team" execution; stronger blocking, fewer miscues. I'll continue to watch the youngsters to see whether they appear to be lining up and playing their assignments correctly. I'll be looking for players at the back of the roster to separate themselves from the pack, either good or bad. I'll be trying to get a read on the depth chart.

that my friend will not happen

Mea culpa
Mea maxima culpa

Good ol' Tamper!

run blocking against the first unit when the pats are on offense.

if crable gets pushed back in running blocking

how many snaps fernanod gets since people think he was pulled early to avoid injury and assess the other guys.

What am I looking for? The chance to spend a few hours away from "she-who-must-be-obeyed" and watch my favorite team. The chance to drink some beer, have a few shots, eat sandwiches and nachos and enjoy the comfort of my couch and widescreen. I am looking forward to the peace of a closed living room door and an open-throttle home theatre system. In short, I am looking for some quality time alone with my favorite hobbies: Football and Drinking. Of only I could install a hot tub and a wet bar in the living room, it would be nirvana. Add a bathroom and I might never leave, except for work.

Heh...

Just become a sports writter and work there. Laptop is all you need. Get a waterproof one if you're gonna use it in that hottube.

This is my list, Yates was brutal last week. Lets see how the entire 1st string offense looks.

Also I will be watching Eugene Wilson, he was not in the Patriot plans but a change of scenery may do him good.
