Things I will miss about BB

Poor punctuation is a sign of the apocalypse, overrated 80s band.
You're a day late and a dollar short.

Tomlin is a clown who wasted Ben's career. It's Super Bowl banners or bust for NE. Not winning seasons and epic post season choke jobs.

Did you read my post? Because you're replying like you didn't.

I clearly said that Tomlin has been pedestrian without Big Ben (and even provided the stats). Even so, the gap between Mayo and Tomlin is enormous, because Mayo hasn't done a thing in the league, yet. To close that gap, he has a long way to go. Maybe Drake will be good enough to carry him, as Ben carried Tomlin. Maybe not. Maybe Mayo turns out to be a great coach. Maybe not. I don't know, there's no evidence other than making inferences from his players' coach babble (which rubs me the wrong way). I've never thought Tomlin was a great coach, but it's premature to compare Mayo to even a pedestrian coach. Mayo could really, really suck. My money is on really sucking, but I'm a glass half full kind of guy.

What I'm going to miss from Bill is that the complaints have already gone down. Mayo has some big shoes to fill. I have a feeling if the team is not doing well, posters will complain about Bill and not Mayo.

Bill was smart enough to know how to respond to questions and give the fans something. I wish he had done that more often.
Mayo interviews like Brady used to when he was here. Lots of really nice sounding nothing.
As Billy Preston once asked, will it go round in circles?
I actually started paying attention to more of Mayo's interviews.. he's sounding more like a HC, I'm sure Slater, and people in his circle give him pointers on things. But you're right.. a whole lot of word salad..

We all will miss Bill and TB12... no matter how much success we can have from here on out.. there Will just never be another Bill or TB12... however I'm fully in support of coach mayo and Drake.. I want them both to have success becuase I want to see my team look competitive on Sundays and ultimately be a contender year in and out again.

So what? It's just word salad to fill the time.

Imagine taking sports interviews seriously.
It would be nice for a change. There are certainly coaches in the league who offer more substantial or at least rsponsive content than Bill ever did, and, despite the greater volume of words, it doesn't seem to me Mayo offers significantly more actual content than Bill did.

You would think some would be happy that RK hired someone that's been part of the Patriots culture as a player and coach under Bill. It's like some want to give mayo no credit. Mayo's gotten the nickname mini-bill from brady for a reason His coaching principles will be more Bill like than people give him credit for. What is different is Mayo's an alpha and a man that can be himself.

I want mayo to build his own coaching legacy. If Drake turns out to be the QB I believe he is then Mayo's coaching tenure will go smoothly..

Then He's a clown that's been a HC for 19 seasons.. there's a lot of coach's that won't last 2 seasons...

I guess it depends on to which version of Bill people want to compare him, the Bill of recent years - failed as a GM, failing as a HC - or the one who gave us the dynasty. I guess the fair and rational thing would be to compare Mayo to Bill in his first few years, but once we fans get squawking about stuff, fairness and rationality don't necessarily figure prominently in our thinking.

Of course, the jury is still out on Mayo, now that all the up-front backslapping and happy talk is over, as it should be. He's a new hire, and any well-run organization will evaluate the performance of such a hire. I am a little worried that people will be distracted by the "gosh, he's just so darn nice" nonsense, which, prickly old curmudgeon that I am, really gets on my nerves. We're not picking a new best bud, after all: he's a head coach, or he isn't. In the end, that's what matters.

There's already another Bill and TB12 in the making in KC and it looks like they'll have a much easier path than Bill and TB12 had.

Yep. When you hire somebody you always want and generally expect they will do their job well. i want Mayo to do well, and I really don't care how Bill-like he is or is not. He can only coach as the guy he actually is. He's a nice guy: great, but irrelevant. Some nice guys can coach; some can't. Some glowering guys who grumble and snort can coach; some can't.

When I was younger I got a job with a small carpentry company. The job interview consisted of one question, "What can you do?" That was back in what I call "the good old days."

I watched Brady's interview with Cowherd and Brady talked about having culture drivers in the locker room, from Bruschi, Izzo, Vrabel, McGinest early on to Chung, McCourty, Gilmore, James White, etc. It's not talked about enough how devoid of leadership this team lacked post Brady. There were a lot of knuckleheads in the locker room doing stuff that was not really done when we had our run.

I hope Maye is a leader and from what we've read, his teammates loved him and looked at him as a great leader. But they were saying the same thing with Mac and he's the worst leader I've ever seen, from throwing tantrums on the sideline to undermining coaching staff by going outside of the organization. Belichick lost complete control frankly because nobody in the locker room checked Mac. If Brady was doing all that I'm sure McGinest and company would have made sure he cut that BS off.

.Mayo's got something no one else in the league can say.. played under Bill and coached under Bill...

Just last year alone there were 5 guys on the Pats coaching staff who could say that.

Oh absolutely agree. What I meant by "Bill like" is what's he's learned under Bill. About running a team and being a leader of men. He doesn't need to replicate Bill, he needs to use all his experiences in the organization to his coaching tenure.

You can't be bothered to look for yourself?
You posted. So put the information up.. I'll help you with one name. Troy brown as a former player. However aside from mayo Please list the other former multiple ALL PRO, team captain in his 2nd year, super bowl pedigree position coach that was on the roster last season?

Agree.. but I don't think they are catching us.. for the reason of Reid I don't think is coaching into his 70s, and Mahomes I don't think is playing into his 40s.. TB12 himself said if he didn't have Guerrero he couldn't have played past his early 30s..

Drop the ball and come out swinging, way to move the goal posts, lol. All those qualifiers weren't there when you posted this:

Ice up son, there's no point in being disengenuous when you drop the ball just own it
