Well, they did a superb job on the Chung Project.

Until Cannon is ready, we have ZERO game day backups at OT.

My guess is still that Barker will be activated.

Yea they do have Mike Williams but who knows how much time they are allocating to him at RT or LT.

I like him at TE....hes pancaking LBs

My understanding is that zero time has been allocated to Williams as OT before Cannon went down.

How will activating Barker alleviate the shortage at OT?

clausel is another OT on PS. He is same as Fleming

BB said the other day he had 30-40 snaps at OT in a preseason game (Giants). Could be an emergency option to avoid exposing a PS player when Cannon returns.

Damn. Cool guy and had actual potential. His body must be broken.
too bad, guess he knee is not ok and perhaps his carrer over

Or Marcus Cannon feels much better this morning as long as we have Three Game Day Actice Offensive Tackles.

He has been injured, maybe they decided they couldn't wait for him to get healthy and needed a shorter term emergency fill in at OT if Vollmer or Fleming also got hurt. There is always Mike Williams, but he has been so good as a blocking TE that I would hate to take him from that role.

I wonder if they are working on Michael Williams being a Tackle permanently? I don't think he's ever going be good at running TE routes based on his size *wont outrun anybody*. But I think he could potentially develop into a Good Swing Tackle with some grooming by our OL Coach Gug's. Michael Williams is already a Very Good Run Blocker.

Who knows, I think I'm going to give up on predicting what BB will do. I was just getting excited about the potential of Brennan Williams, and we know how that worked out.

I would probably guess that they leave Michael Williams as a blocking TE. I think he is essentially a new and improved version of what Fleming provided last year as effectively a sixth OT, but unlike Fleming at the TE position. I'm somewhat familiar with Michael Williams (a binky of mine) from his career at Alabama, I live in Birmingham nearby and college football is all anyone talks about. At UA, three time National Champion (starting for two of them) and three year starter, devastating blocker (especially as a run blocker), a favorite of Nick Saban. He actually has excellent hands and doesn't shrink from big moments (caught a touchdown pass in the National Championship against Notre Dame). However, even at a lighter weight he was never someone to run like a gazelle or juke people out of their shoes, but if he was left open you could usually count on him making the catch.

All you have to do is look at his progressively increasing snap count over the last five games to see that he has been effective for the Patriots, so I would hate mess up a good thing by trying to convert him to OT (of course, that probably means that is exactly what BB will do). But you are right, he isn't running that many TE routes, I think he has only been targeted once this year (a catch in the second game), I thought they would at least throw to him once or twice a game, but I guess they like him back there blocking.

Holy Stats Batman.

Belichick has faced Ryan Fitzpatrick 7 times beat him 6 and forced 20 turnovers by Fitz.
Last 5 gams for Gronk vs Jets = 57 targets/33 rec/5TD
