He ran a 4.45 forty and 6.69 3-cone at his pro day last year. I don't think his issue is speed I think it's that he doesn't know how to play the position. He could be coached up I'm sure, it's not going to happen in Detriot though.

He ran a 4.62. He can't cover anyone. The Saints kept 4 UDFAs over him.

So would I, but maybe he hasn't fully healed from an ankle injury (high sprain?) suffered in mid-August.
I haven't been able to find an update since then.

My guess is that Harper is signed to the PS if/when he clears waivers..

Just be sure the two year contestability period has passed on your life insurance. No need for those premiums to go to waste, right?

Hmm. Didn't want to guaranteed Watson's salary for the year, or did Martin need to be replaced? Martin played 16 ST snaps so he wasn't a roster spot liability, although I won't claim to be able to judge the quality of his ST play. Watson is most famous for running a 4.40, but that was at 226 pounds and he's listed at 245 now, so I don't think he brings some brand new dimension to the defense or anything like that.

We only had 4 LB on the roster, and I'm not sure if this signing really makes it 5, as I only recall him playing on the edge this preseason. So we might be back to 7 deep on the edge...
