The problem is that Guyton was playing as an every down LB last season. Foote is the better run stuffer of the two. He could be brought in for a low dollar amount and improve the first and second down interior defense while Guyton can be our third down specialist.

I don't think you'll be seeing Guyton used as a third down specialist any time soon.

We need to compete with the Colts, Saints, etc. and other teams who are comfortable with a hurry-up offense. This is where we get beat, counting on being able to change personnel on 3rd down.

I certainly didn't see the Patriots competing with the Saints when Guyton was in for a huge amount of snaps. Maybe I was watching a different game, though.
