I think we also have to keep in mind that BB is using a very vanilla pass rush. These guys have to show that they have mastered reading the play and using the proper technique before BB starts dialing up the blitzes. The defense is improving.

I watch a lot of NFL football and honestly, the Patriots blitz as much as anyone, in fact i don't think I see a team that blitzs it's slot corners as much as the Patriots do

I expect the pass rush will assume a similar trajectory as the rest of the defense. Just like everywhere else, we're to some degree reliant on very green players who are learning and improving game by game.

Just wait until Crable gets on the field.

Cunningham cracked out a spin move last night. He's working on moves, now he's have to learn how to set them up against NFL caliber tackles. If/when he does that, the pass rush will get a boost.

I think this is exactly right. In reviewing Cunningham's games last year at Florida, he almost entirely relied on his quick first step and strength to get around the outside of OT's. That will not work in the NFL, unless as you say he balances that with inside moves. I, too, was pleased to see that spin. Cunningham is very raw but he is *already* making plays -- the force on the interception vs Fitzpatrick, the deflection yesterday etc. He's still improving and we don't yet know at all what his ceiling might be. I doubt he'll be a Demarcus Ware, but he'll be a quality player...

makes me wonder why they didn't move TBC to the left side and get a more favorable matchup going again the fins right tackle. i don't think going against jake long was a good matchup.

certainly tbc is not comfortable playing left end but isn't this the team that preaches versatility?

How about Tully beating the best tackle in football? Was that good enough to show he is a good pass rushers? Or is he still lucky getting the 10 sacks?
