Re: Wrecks...I'll play them again right now.

Put it into the context. Rex is praising the Patriots as best he can. He looks totally demoralized and is giving the Patriots credit for the beat down.

It's the most humble I've heard him in some time.

preeeeety hard not to be humbled after that one.

Can someone please get a collection of the "jets D is bla and pats o will have no answer" god tonights game was sweet

Just gont done watching the postgame stuff and I have to say that Rex's comments were taken out of context. Yes, he said he'd go back out there and do it again. That he'd stick his chin out again.. yada yada. But he did it in a way that ANY prize fighter would do. It was not said in a negative way that was meant as an insult to the Pats.

Rex took his beating like a man and credited the Patriots. Now he has an opportunity to go out and coach his football team. Good luck, Partner.

He seemed perturbed about the "running it up." He said they'll remember it.

Cryan Ryan?

Was fatboy crying on the sidelines 2nd half?

Looked that way. His eyes were all red and he was rubbing his eyes.

Didn't Rex mean

"stick my chins out"

Cripes he has as many as a Chinese phone book.

Be interesting to see if he can put Sanchize back together by the end of the season.

Please no more Rex Ryan threads, please.

Rex this , Rex that.... Rex farted....

memo to Rex and the Jets

Teams that talk trash usually have never won anything.

take a look in the mirror boys

Ryan was the single biggest difference in the game yesterday. The Pats were up 3-0 after not reaching the Jets red zone, so not an ideal start but not bad. Then Ryan flushed the game down the toilet:

1) Coming out in a no-huddle. Right away that indicated the Jets were playing scared. Sanchez needed to have the game slow, controlled and in a rhythm that kept him comfortable under the big lights. Huddle up, get the running game going, roll Sanchez out for some easy throws. Nope. The media says they can't defend the pass so we need to become the Colts.

2) The 3rd down challenge. The challenge rules are stupid and completely punitive once you miss a challenge. You just can't use a challenge early unless you are sure you will win and the situation has a substantial impact on the game. You never win a spot challenge unless it is obvious and this situation wasn't. Now the Jets have one challenge for the rest of the game...even if they win it. In what should be a close battle for the division lead that is a huge disadvantage.

3) Going for it on 4th and 1. I'm generally all about going for it. If you can't make one yard when needed, you don't deserve to win. The problem with this situation is that the Jets had the opportunity to pin the Pats deep and start winning the field position battle. With the Jets getting the kickoff in the 2nd half, their goal should have been to keep the 1st half close, make adjustments and do it again after halftime. Even though the Jets converted, the move smelled of panic.

4) Attempting a 52 yd FG. His kicker is a mess and Ryan puts him in that situation to start the game? Folk knows that if he misses, Brady has a short field and a chance to take control early. Indoors? Fine. 30 degrees with an unpredictable wind? No way.

So the Jets are midway through the 1st quarter and:
a) The QB is unsettled
b) The kicker is now useless on anything but a chippy
c) The defense is wondering why the coach is pulling out all the stops to score in a 3-0 game instead of playing field position

No reason for any of it. Just a horrific coaching job. That wasn't the Jets...it was the Bills expecting to lose and playing like they had to win the game in the 1st quarter. The Jets were not the better team yesterday, but they were betrayed by their coaches...Ryan in particular. The game against the Fins this week is a must win with road games against Chicago and Pittsburgh looming.

The Jets can certainly right the ship with a good win or two, but Ryan went all in with this team for this season...and he has a legitimate risk of losing these guys. His talk looks pretty foolish now and another bad loss or two will turn Ryan into a circus clown. Clowns are fun to watch but you don't want to work for them.

Please put this picture in the first post, and stop making gazillions thread about this clown. I had to endure him for the last 2 weeks.

I didn't think he was bombastic at all in the PC...he said several times "you're underestimating the opponent" and basically credited the pats for a great win...what is he supposed to say? "we suck"?

Asked whether he thought Belichick was rubbing it in by leaving Tom Brady in the game with a 42-3 lead, Ryan said, “I mean, probably, I mean, I don’t think he was necessarily trying to rub it in, but this is the same team that took a bunch of shots on us and they had paybacks. I mean, let’s face it, we kicked their butt at our place. So you know, they are trying to come back. So, trust me, we will remember this.”

I agree on the first points and disagree on the last one. He said they got outplayed and outcoached and something to the effect that he had not experienced this kind of a beating for quite some time. So, yeah, he basically admitted that they sucked.

And to people mocking him for his attitude, just remember that he is the frigging HC of the team and his brash and provocative stance - for good or bad - deflects the attention away from the players.

So, after this embarassing thumping, he can't afford to cow down and act humble in front of everyone because of its ripple effects into the locker room.

Hence his need to keep up his act of talking loud and acting brave though beaten.

PS: I admired the fact that he never failed to give credit to us and as you said, mentioning several times that the media were underestimating the opponent.

On the other hand, I was a bit shocked to see Sanchez's PC after the game. He didn't look humble or embarassed that he let down his team and sounded a bit overconfident that the other guys in the locker room didn't think too much of it.

GO PATS!! I am so friggin thrilled.

Boston.com sums the Jet coaching up well in this article.

No matter how much the Jets want to plaster him in big lights on Broadway, Sanchez is a mere ensemble character, not a matinee idol.

He was confused, indecisive, and inaccurate.

And that was just in the first half.

I will give you that. That seemed bizarre. Running up the score? What are they supposed to do? 3 and out and let them come back? If they could have kneed to win it, they would have.

We took our shots? Payback? What?
