Game Day Thread The Official Patriots vs Texans game thread

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

Lastly, we have never allowed promoting the use of any illegal streaming. This is illegal and will be enforced by copyright holders, which puts this site at risk. DO NOT POST ANY LINKS to those platforms.

This also means, there absolutely cannot be any mention these platforms, spaces, special characters, etc. - so do not get creative in trying to work around this request.

If you do you will have your account suspended.

I do not have the means to deal with legal issues and have already been contacted previously, so this absolutely needs to be adhered to. If you see any illegal links, please report them so a mod can remove them.

Definitely feels like AHern hasn't been very close 100% yet. THis would be a good night to start getting there.

I really hope TB has a bounce back game.He needs to be sharp against this team.

If that's real, that means Connolly, Mankins and Vollmer should be good to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Could we actually see tonight: Solder-Mankins-Wendell-Connolly-Vollmer??????????

With Bolden activated and added to the mix (we knew tonight he was added to the roster, but that list makes his actual game activation official) we may see a true ground and pound tonight. Man, I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It really seems pretty unusual that so much could be decided this early in the season, but tonight seems like a pretty massive game in terms of playoff implications.

If the Texans win, the Patriots are virtually eliminated from the top seed in the AFC. (It's "virtual," in that they could still theoretically get it if the Texans lose out and Indy wins out, and Indy wins the division, since the Pats have the tie breaker over the Indy. Also, it would still be theoretically possible for the Pats to host the AFCCG if they make it if Houston loses early in the playoffs.) Indeed, if the Patriots lose, they are looking pretty shaky for a bye, since Denver would be ahead of them in wins and Baltimore holds the tie breaker. Since Denver and Baltimore play each other and thus one has to win that game, the Patriots would very likely be on the outside looking in for a bye, even if they get to 12 wins.

If, however, the Patriots win, they are in really good shape. They will have a one game lead over Baltimore despite not having the tie breaker, the tie breaker over Denver, and would still be very much in line for the top seed.

It seems awful early for those kind of stakes.

Mankins, Connolly and Vollmer all going to give it a go. (We'll see how many finish.) Jones also active, and Shiancoe looking to catch his first passs as a Patriot.

There is a pregame show on CSNE. They did say that both Mankins and Jones will be playing tonight.

There will also be a post game show right after the game.

I am so excited and nervous. Butterflies in my stomach. I just want it to start!

Got my nitro handy. Maalox right next to it. Yup all set to go.

Yeah, me too. I'm trying to get a bunch of stuff done pre-game, in order to counter my jitters, but I also needed to take some time and check in here.

Sigh....... I'm such a Patriots junkie. :rocker:
