ref standing RIGHT THE HECK THERE and blows the TD call. Now we have to waste a challenge.

I don't think it's a wasted challenge if the team wins it. I might be wrong though. I think maybe they have to win two and then they're awarded one more or something like that. Either way it was a blown call by a ref who is standing right there. I saw that it was a touchdown in real time thousands of miles away on my couch.

The rule where a score is an auto challenge but an almost score called on the field isn't is weird. But I guess it is hard to define an almost score.

This officiating crew seems not up to the speed of the game today.
