On another note...Mike Vick is looking like trash. Has made some real rookie reads.

Brady getting HAMMERED again.. Welker popped twice... nice work Belichick.

Geezus, Belichick just can't do anything right can he? The guy has only led the Pats to 3 Superbowl titles, perfect season record, contenders year in year out, plethora of division titles, etc., ect., ect.

This is football... I think BB knows what he is doing. Again, this is foortball guys are going to get hit.

But no, let's bring our all knowing selves into this because you know what's better for this team.

It's clear to me that Solder isn't ready to be a starter yet (which is totally fine and I wouldn't expect him to anyway). Needs to gain some muscle, work on his technique a bit. Has a lot of promise, but I sure am glad we have Light back...

damn, josh johnson is fast. Just took off

he has been playing a LOT better than freeman.....as is evident by how our defense went from immovable rock to swiss cheese

Carter has looked very good. I'm not sure how someone could come to a conclusion other than that. Granted it's the pre-season and we'll assess the performance of players critically come the season proper, but the performance of some players this early is exciting to say the least.

I'm thinking that the Patriots O-line is one of the better pass protection units in the league and by all accounts Carter has been making them his b*tch on a regular basis.

This offense is going to have teams dropping back and passing alot this year - guys like Anderson (one dimensional) are going to have plenty to do.

I think Carter is pretty stout against the run too.

I just saw Pitt was up 14-0 on the dream team and was wondering what was going on.

Some people will say Belichick's switch to the 1-gap 4-3 was a panic move, driven by his fear that the game was passing by him and his outdated 2-gap 3-4 defensive scheme.

I say NO!

I say Bill Belichick is a brilliant, adaptable coach who watches the trends in the league and changes his approach to maximize the Patriots' chances of winning. Who's with me???

:agree:

Re: Excited for 43?

Andre Carter came out to solidify a roster spot tonight.

Holy crap.

I was going to say the same thing. With what we've heard about him looking great in practice and now showing it on the field tonight, any chance he didn't make the team IMO has ended.

You're right. I've heard people singing that song since the signing of Haynesworth. This morning, in fact, that's what Jemelle (whatever her name is) was saying. She was saying that all of the Pats' offseason moves were desperation moves built to beat the Jets. She of course played the "old" card because that's all she has every year. I guess she never stopped to realize that even with all the signing of older D-linemen that the Pats still have one of the youngest defenses in the league.

Patriots Twitter:

"Through 6 quarters of preseason football, the Patriots have outscored their opponents 75-12."

FUNFL-II

Tampa Bay's backup QB Josh Johnson reminds me of the negative traits that Michael Bishop, or for that matter a young Mike Vick had: he seems to want to pull the ball down and run on far too many passing plays way too early. Obviously he's very athletic, but the tendency to do that doesn't work as often, plus it will get you hurt in the NFL - as opposed to that decision resulting in a big play in college and high school.

It was the horse of a different color ...

More like a show pony.

Re: Excited for 43?

so 2 ex redskins are going to rev up our D, bring it on :rocker:

Game 1 is unnecessary??????

Dude, That's an epic Fail. You might want to restate that question.

I'm just saying there is an inherent risk anytime you play the game. If you get knocked out in the preseason or knocked out in game 1, it's the same result, a lost season.

Just because Brady gets knocked down doesn't mean he should be yanked. He needs to adjust just like everyone else and get used to taking hits every once in a while.

Great first half, offering us a nice, fun way to judge the team. The offense looks ready, almost to a man. The defense is showing us a bit about how things might shake out.

The Bucs are wetting themselves.

Second half should be great for evaluations on the bottom end players.
We are in agreement.

That's only news if you held the position that Michael Vick was something other than what the media is attempting to create.

Michael gonna Vick. The Eagles are in for a disappointing season and alot of them will be wishing they hadn't traded Kolb.

I wanna see Ridley in the second half.Is he available to play?

It's handy for the transformed defense to go up against arguably the best offense in football. That can only increase the level of play between both units.

Internal competition is a wonderful thing.
