This + fantasy football leads to a lot of complaining about being 2-0 because it wasn't pretty. Hopefully this week shuts people up because it was pretty and solid in all parts of the game against a really great defense and an offense with some pretty quality players including one with a great history against us.

No comment on Arrington getting the nod on the outside in the first?

I know my wife told me to stuff it a few times while screaming at the television.

I don't understands the management's confidence in him as an outside corner. Time and Time again he had proven to be brutal. Yet here he was again today. Gave up play after play and cost the team 3 points. Also cost me significant liver damage...

If a corner plays all game and 'costs' his team a total of 3 points, he should be praised.

The patriots are slowly morphing back to a power running attack and i love every second of it :rocker:.

The buccaneers are a tough and proud run stopping defense and the patriots ran the ball down their throats.

The Pats today is my favorite type of football. Dominant defense, solid and efficient offense. Would rather win 23-3 over 42-24 any day. If the Pats continue like this, they are built better for the playoffs than any of the last five years.

A win is a win ill take it. We still do have allot to work, i thought the Defense played another good game witch is very good. We still need to allot on our pass rush that was sloppy. Our receivers have come along way then from week 1 vs. Buffalo witch is good, I really hope Gronk is back for next sundays game i think he will be. But in the long run it's a win witch is always good.

I don't think that invalidates what I'm saying, it's been apparent these last few games so I wouldnt dismiss it as a one off. QBs like Roethlisburger and Manziel thrive off of chaos but it ruins Brady, I think one can alleviate it but it would have to be done through practice, purposefully creating chaotic situations that force him to have to adjust on the fly.

What actually invalidates your thesis is how completely stupid it is.

The guy is playing with two rookies as his main weapons and without his top three weapons.

How exactly is that NOT chaos?

Seriously make it stop.

D is pretty good...but has yet to face a legit QB like they would face come playoffs.

Next week we will see that legit QB in Ryan who rarely loses at home. Will be a tough test. Sounds like Gronk is back next week 100% and a chance Amendola comes back which would be huge for this O. Bucs have a better D then the Falcons but Falcons have a better O even without S Jax

What's really baffling is that after a game where the defense surrenders 3 points............Ian would actually let someone dumb down patsfans.com with a post like yours.

"I don't understand" is the only intelligent observation you made.

What you're saying is a bunch of nonsense.

Or to put it another way, when Amendola was out there and getting to the spots he was supposed to, Brady wasn't having any problem finding him and getting him the ball.

You're making my argument, thanks. Brady needs things to be correct in order to function well, he can't improvise. A receiver might not be in the correct place but still open and Brady won't hit him.

I'm not making your argument, so don't thank me. Your failing to understand the system is not the same as Brady having an issue.

Huh?!? I don't agree with what Deus is saying, but Brady needs things to be correct for things to function well and he can't improvise? I don't know what QB you have been watching the last 12 years.

Brady had a few bad passes today. Some of it was on him. Some of it was on his receivers. But overall, Brady had a good game. So did his receivers.

Brady can do more with less than most QBs in this league and many times, Brady is making calls at the line because he needs to improvise on the fly.

Nice to come out with a win, and hopefully no long-term injuries.

The first quarter was rough - looked like more of the same. Then they played their best quarter of the season. Brady's passes were perfect. Receivers getting open. Converting third downs, stopping third downs.

Very nice to see the offense able to run the ball in the fourth, in a situation where the other team knows the run is coming. They clearly haven't trusted the rushing offense in the red zone attempts through the first few games. It would be nice not to have to throw every time they are inside the 20. That could be a good sign.

Still hard to get a read on this defense. Shutting down Buffalo, NYJ, and Tampa Bay doesn't really answer many questions - especially when those offensively-challenged teams are missing key pieces. They did what they were supposed to do - stop a weak offense. Can they slow a good offense? We don't yet know.

On defense, this is probably the least substituting we've seen in the past decade or so. Vellano gets a number of rotations. But through the first three quarters of these games we aren't seeing the third-down package -- the TBC/Mark Anderson pass-rushing specialist, the Roman Phifer coverage linebacker. There is some Buchanan very late in games, some late Logan Ryan. Surprising. Is there a real concern with the depth on this defense?

All in all, defense looks a bit better than last year, and offense took a step forward in the second quarter. Nice to start 3-0 -- there was a stat on the game that when they start 3-0 they've gone to the Super Bowl.

See, I can do that too. I'm sorry that your butt-hurt that Brady made some really bad throws and decisions but it's true. Some of those rookie receivers got wide open but Brady simply didnt throw to them, or made bad throws.

The funny thing is that you actually made my argument for me:

"The guy is playing with two rookies as his main weapons and without his top three weapons."

Those guys will be where he wants them to be, which is comforting to him, when the receivers aren't exactly where he expects them to be he breaks down, even if they're wide open.

I think they mean once the play has been run/running and no ones open, but I disagree with them there too, Brady has been great at staying alive and finding someone that broke off.

I'm not making your argument, so don't thank me. Your failing to understand the system is not the same as Brady having an issue.

Brady didnt throw to WIDE open receivers down field, he missed Dobson for an EASY touchdown, he threw the ball into the ground on a screen pass to Thompkins.

These are 101-level QB tasks that he was messing up.

I'm talking post-snap.

Either way, Brady can do more improvising in a 2 by 2 pocket than most mobile QBs can do running around the entire backfield.

I'm talking post-snap.

Ok, you still are wrong, but I get it now. Have you ever watched Brady move around in the pocket directing his receivers to go where he wants them to? Brady improvises after the snap all the time. Just because he doesn't run around like Colin Kaepernick doesn't mean he can't manipulate the pocket to buy times and improvise the play.

So the problem is that you don't know what improvising is, as well as not understanding how the offense works.
