The Official NFL Cut Thread

Means & Simon would be very interesting even though we pretty much set there (Hey I'm a pass rush fanatic )

Neither do I tbh. I think he was a binky of some on the draft forum at the time?
I think there were some media rumblings that NE may have been interested, as well. That likely fueled the fire a bit. It was one of those Percy Harvin type of comparisons where people thought that he could be used in a variety of ways. Unfortunately for Braxton, he’s pretty unremarkable as far as wide receivers go, and he most certainly is not an NFL QB.

Why is Tate a pipe dream? Last year of his contract. Idk if Detroit will pay him. We will see.
He has a 2018 cap hit of 9.3m dollars. Do you think that Belichick is going to pay that via trade, or are you suggesting that he’ll be cut and somehow make his way to us? Either way, I think it’s difficult to imagine.

If Belichick were going to pay good money for a WR, he’d likely want him here for the spring and summer, so that he could learn our system and build something with Brady. You can never rule it out, but I would be surprised.

If I had to guess I’d say that the only Tate we have a realistic chance of getting is Brandon.
Sure, but we have a roster of 52 (51 with Izzo to IR) and we are not going to play the first month with Hogan, Dorsett and Patterson, right? Right??

Honestly, I think that someone will be signed for depth purposes, but I don’t think it’s going to be the kind of splash signing that some have suggested. I’m hesitant to believe that too many can come in and contribute all that much over the next several games.

They’ll lean on their other weapons, as well as the run game and the defense, at least while Edelman is out.

Once they see who clears and signs to PS we should sign a couple depth players. No cap for anything big.

(yells to Joker)

“He said it’s cool if we want to milk his ex-wife.”

I still love my ex, so the last thing I'd want for her is the sexual dissatisfaction and disease that inevitably accompanies any sexual liason with Mr. Kerr.

You would probably try really hard but I have a sneaking suspicion you're also a crier during sex.

It feels as though you’re insinuating that this isn’t perfectly normal behavior. To each his own, good sir.

Thoughts on bringing Kendall Wright in?

He became someone people talked about because he had the physical tools to be a legit Edelman successor. Most people also agreed that were he was drafted was too high for his niche skill set.

If you can get him for free and check what's there to work with he could be someone you can build on for next year. Edelman and Hogan are on the wrong side of 30, Dorsett and Patterson unproven + on 1y deals. There is zero talent in the pipeline right now.

Eh, the Mack trade was a good one. Including everything else on that list is a red herring. But, looking at the rest of those items individually in their own vacuum... yikes.
