Yes, it could. But the Patriots Staff can't see the future. So, unless one of them rates out better than Thomas, I don't see the Pats drafting a TE in the 3rd round.

One of which was an injury shorted season for Thomas.

BTW, the Pats just spent some money on a guy named Chris Baker. Baker will be their guy for the foreseeable future. Watson may not be their long term TE, but he'll be here this season. As will Thomas. Unless the Pats pull off a trade to get rid of one of them. But that could be said about any position that they already are 5 deep at.

They won't? Please let me know which draft pick taken in the top 4 rounds by Belichick has been cut from the team during that prospect's 1st training camp..

I believe Kareem Brown was cut by BB as a 4th round pick before season started and the Jests claimed him in a hurry. Anyway, I think the other guy was saying that late round picks (after 4th) aren't likely to make the roster, not 4th round picks.
