If I squint really hard I can almost see a 4-3 with Worthy-Easley inide and Nink-Jones outside.
I'd be fine with that on 3rd and longs to give Kelly/VW a nice breather. Especially if that breather ends up lasting for the ensuing punt , offensive drive, PAT, and kickoff.
Honestly though, Worthy was drafted where he was for a reason, he's a good player. He's been derailed by injuries to date. If he can recover, which is a huge question, the Packer's obviously don't feel as if he can or they wouldn't have given him up for free, it will give us yet another interior pass rusher.
The position, when healthy, has potential to be an embarassment of riches, or it can crash and burn miserably since every interior rusher is oft injured.
We started transitioning to a 4-3 front with nothing but run-stuffers. Tried and failed at getting a rusher with Haynesworth, a year later we attempted to bring a potential Stud in Armstead into the fold and Kelly looked like the best DL on the team until tearing his ACL, fast forward another year, Armstead is out, but Kelly returns, Chris Jones was a 2013 surprise, Easley is drafted with comparisons to Geno Atkins, and Worthy is brought in as another revitalization attempt.
When healthy the interior DL could be one of the best pass rushing groups in the NFL ...or it could just never be healthy and continue to be a gigantic 3rd down weakness.
I want to drink from the half full glass for now.
