I thought I'd run a board wide Patriots mock draft game with the Patriots picking at 11 and 32 so we can get a determination as to who might be available, and who the might prefer the Patriots to pick if we get either of those picks back from the Saints. Here's how it works.

1. I will make the picks for other teams. The picks will be based upon what I determine what they'll do using pro mock drafts, the team's respective fan forums and drafttek's team needs page.

2. The Patriots will pick at 11 and 32 as a thought experiment. Obviously in reality, that would be an either/or situation but this is only a game. We're trying to determine who we'd take at those respective slots.

3. Patriots picks will be determined by vote. Pick your top three preferences for each pick in order of preference. Your first pick will get 3 points, second pick 2 points and third pick 1 point. The prospect with the most points is the winner.

4. I will allow approximately 24 hours (depending on my availability) for each Patriots pick to get as many involved as possible.

5. You can choose TRADE as an option. Just write TRADE as your selection and I will come up with a trade in keeping with the trade chart. I CHOOSE the trade. It's only a trade back available. I will limit the trade backs to only two throughout the draft to stop the trading getting silly.

6. We'll go as far as there is interest.

So here's the first ten picks in the mock.

1. Browns - Myles Garrett
2. 49ers - Soloman Thomas
3. Bears - Jamal Adams
4. Jaguars - Malik Hooker
5. Titans - Marshon Lattimore
6. Jets - OJ Howard
7. Chargers - Jonathan Allen
8. Pamthers - Leonard Fournette
9. Bengals - Reuben Foster
10. Bills - Mike Williams
11. Patriots - ???

Over to you.

HOW DARE YOU TAKE OF REUBEN FOSTER!!!

In all seriousness I'd more than happy with Reddick and Conley. They are Pats players.

Not necessarily saying this is my best choice, or even what I think the Patriots should do, but I'll go with a slight wildcard. After observing the Michigan pro day, Belichick drafts Taco Charlton as Chandler Jones 2.0. Taco had some of the most fluid drops I've seen from a guy that big. This is an all upside gamble, but I'm betting on Patricia to get the most from a still-developing player.

Trade
Charleton DE Mich
C Davis WR West Mich

If you're saying a trade worthwhile is off the board, then I'd put Reddick in. John Ross is intriguing with that speed, but the knee surgery scares me and we're pretty good at writing right now.

Any chance you can give me choices in order please.

well if you're not going to be original....

I mean, you summed up exactly what I would do at 11. My targets wouldn't really change at 32, although I doubt Reddick makes it there. Maybe I'd add Willis or Bowser to the list. But it's all so volatile right now -- it's just about impossible to who is going to go where. There are close to 50 players who could realistically go anywhere in the 10 - 40 slot. I have no idea how it's going to shake out anymore.

i've been thinking about my realistic first round Pats board. Something along the lines of:

1. OJ Howard
2. Reuben Foster
3. Haason Reddick
4. Gareon Conley
5. David Njoku
6. Taco Charlton
7. Tyus Bowser
8. Marlon Humphrey
9. Zack Cunningham
10. Josh Jones ?
11. Obi Melifonwu?

Really not sure about the last two but that's who I'd be targeting, either at 11 or 32.

Edit: Forgot Budda.

A couple things.

1. I have my doubts about any trade back option. It could happen, but I am guessing it will be very hard to find appropriate value in any trade, since most will be seeing things the same way as us. Primarily, that the value doesn't change after the top 5 or so. I would love to trade back for a bounty of picks, but am not sure if that will be available.

2. The board you set up is possible, but probably our worst case scenario. No qbs and no tackles being taken would be a bit surprising, and forces a few guys up and out of our range. In a parallel world where Watson and Trubisky are gone, I am taking any of the defensive guys taken above (minus foster), or Howard over any of the other guys below.

3. I think y'all are crazy for taking a Will linebacker at 11 , but that is your prerogative.

Without further adieu

1. Trade
2. Conley
3. Taco

I don't think a QB will go early unless it's to the Jests. As for OT, both Bolles and Ramczyk have question marks. And don't worry about Reddick, the trade option is gonna win.

The Jets are an obvious point for a QB, and the Titans hold a lot of cards as a logical place for teams to trade up. With two picks, they can keep kicking picks down the road, and still fill their need at corner and receiver. I am not counting out Buffalo either. They seem like Watsons draft floor to me.

The tackles all have questions, but a league where Kalil is making 11mil a year, I cant imagine teams being that scared off to skip over them entirely. It's good to remember, only once since 2000 has there been a draft without a tackle in the top 10, and none since 2005. It's too important in today's game, and they are too hard to find otherwise. The chargers are my likely landing spot, but wouldn't rule out someone higher either.

Manx, do you not see a QB or 2 with the first 10 picks? NOT talking about value.. ill bet 1 or 2 is drafted regardless.

I think the reason the likes of Kalil got 11m was that teams didn't like this tackle class. There's too many good players in this first round to risk big reaches in my opinion.

Nope. I think they'll fall. I think the Jets is the only possible spot for a QB and they already have two young guys on the roster.

Anyway, the reason I did this format is, that as a GM on draft day, the picks are a fait accompli. You take what you are given in terms of whom other teams pick.

Fine, then lets figure out what teams there could pick a QB IF they falls...
I see: Cardinals, Giants, Chargers, Chiefs, Texans, Steelers as options... Others?

In draft order, not necessarily with their first
1. Browns
2. 49ers
3. Bears
6. Jets
7. Chargers
10. Bills
11. Saints
13. Cards
17. Redskins
23. Giants
25. Texans
27. Chiefs
30. Steelers

Not all will, and some other teams may want a cheap backup, but that's your best guess list of teams that will likely be looking QB. As many as half that could look as early as round 1.
