Belichick uncharacteristically made a comment about something in the future:

"Tom will return as the starting quarterback when he comes back." Certainly unusual for Bill to talk about week 5 the first week of training camp, but his intentions are obvious.

I'll be rooting for Jimmy, and I am fundamentally incapable of rooting against the Pats. But I can't say that a 4-0 start, with JG performing brilliantly, wouldn't be just a tad of a distraction for the team, considering the nonsense the media would throw out there. But what am I saying, this team knows how to deal with that. Nevermind.

Four games is not far into the future. The Pats know where both QBs are at right now. Things are not going to be much different come October. After game 4, Brady will be healthy and rested. He will be ready to play NFL football at a level that will allow the Pats to compete at the highest level. Of course, he will assume his role. How he holds up over the season will determine if he holds onto the starting position and whether he hangs 'em up over the off season.

He has a quick release and doesn't panic [so far]. I think the Corrupt criminal Conspiracy that is the NFL screwed up, because Jimmy G. has had enough repitions to gain confidence and he has one thin any inexperienced QB would love, two outstanding 6'6" tight ends.

Thar has got to be a tremendous safety valve that will keep him from getting sacked or making panic throws.

I can really see a scenario where Jimmy G is just fine and a rested Brady steps in with the new twin towers and just starts tasking over. He's been tremendous through bumps and bruises going deep into the playoffs almost every year. A twelve game season? Fresh as lettuce, baby.
