There's a bunch of guys who showed they have potential who are not making the intiial 53 man squad, but I think they're probably confident they'll be available to be re-signed to PS. There may be some other shoes to fall as other teams cut veterans, but I think even the vets are looking at getting signed for week 2 at this juncture so their contracts are not guaranteed.

To me the 53 man roster is all about who you think can and can't pass through waivers to the PS when it comes to younger guys or those with limited experience.

If it were me I'd pass on a 3rd QB, especially one drafted in the 7th round who would likely make it through to the PS. Though he could be someone moved later to make room for another available player when the cuts are finalized.

If my math is correct, there are about 20 new faces from last year's roster, more on offense than defense.

Not a bad initial 53. It's seemsa bit more top heavy than usual (which can be a good thing if the injury gods favor the Patriots).

I'd like to see them add depth to edge and cb.
