The Bill megathread (HC at UNC, girlfriend, etc.)

That’ll be a $20 million **** sandwich for the university to eat.
UNC may consider it worth that much to get rid of the new B&B (Bunny & Bill).

Nobody saw this coming.

Ted's bitterness has translated to negatively spinning most matters BB-related. That is, to the point where his credibility as a media source should be questioned. He might have a legitimate axe to grind on a personal level but the crossover is troubling. I've seen him report (editorialize) on stuff re. BB that CLEARLY was driven by personal animus and unnecessarily so.

Perhaps it's a matter of style, to some degree -- Ted is not a schooled journalist. But instances where he has offered valuably objective insider takes on BB's shortcomings in New England tend to get clouded by his anti-Bill reputation.

Sounds eerily like Shaughnessy re: Kraft for that denied access to the media breakfast buffet 28 years ago.

.

Belichick's on thin ice at UNC, for sure. When I was there, guys who were gonna wash out their freshman year spent a lot of time at He's Not Here and this leaning wood building with a tiny bar called The Shack. If they play their cards right, Belichick and Jordan the Gold Digger should be able to party on until at least Spring Break.

The end is nigh.

No surprise they're looking for an out, and this is a window of opportunity that might give it to them.

I don’t think the improper tickets/sideline passes are enough to fire Belichick for cause but this is the first I’m hearing about recruiting violations. That’s a whole ‘nother ball game.

"Many on the recruiting front" - ya that's a problem. If serious enough could there be a show cause order against BB? That would force him out. There's precedent for that.

Who knows though... this could just be a leak that they're looking for an out.

Sound like lack of institutional control to me.

Well the NCAA is slow as molasses where discipline goes. I mean it was just 2 months ago that they issued a show cause order for Jim Harbaugh, and he’s been in LA with the Chargers for over a full season. So I don’t see the NCAA coming to UNC’s aide.

Lol just a matter of time before they started saying cheatriots. Playbook as old as time but go on quoting every hater looking for a click.

Has any legend flamed out at the end as badly as Belichick?

Well, I gotta fess up when I'm wrong on something. Michael Lombardi had me completely fooled. I thought he was a co-architect of two dynasties the way he presented himself. Turns out he was a pool boy... Or something like that. Sorry, I'm baked. lol

This may be moving fast, from the PFT article:

I’m very curious to know what those recruiting violations were. He’s done.
