Once again, in "Later Years BB", he misevaluated talent. He tried to whip her into shape but she lashed out at CBS. This whole thing has been painful to watch and the abuse BB is getting in the press and from the fanbase is rough.

Wallace's interviews were "negotiations" and framing of answers to the questions he was going to ask. He claims he never blindsided his interview. They always knew what was coming- including his potential follow-up to an answer he deemed squishy

I fear our once respected coach is veering towards a Charlie Sheen level of 'winning' now. It saddens me but I can't say it's surprising, BB was never exactly a standard bearer for moral rectitude. He's a great football coach not Mother Teresa and he never pretended to be.

So that means it's ok for CBS to turn what should have been a softball book promotion interview into a TMZ circus. Even if CBS went into this with good intentions do you really think just because Jordan got entitled its right for them to turn it into a hit piece? Kind of vindictive for a reporter don't you think. Clearly they had alternate motives than a soft interview to let a writer promote his book.

CBS did exactly what it was supposed to do and that's find the most entertaining narrative in the interview. BB and his 24yr GF were not up to task with actual journalism.

The fact that, what would have been a boring and forgetful interview, turned into a nationwide story is exactly what any journalist is supported to do.

CBS didn't lie. They showed an actual interaction that wasn't out of context.

BB whining after the fact makes him looks worse. He should have stayed quiet and would have faded from the public faster.

The issue with dating a 24 year old young woman (hot or not, doesn’t really matter) is you invariably have to have a conversation with her.

Odd that I’m realizing I may have my life in more proper order than an eight time super bowl winning HC/DC.

This is true.

Sooner or later you must be who you are. I knew a woman in Houston, TX who absolutely hated all sports. Then she met a divorced Doctor who was a sports fanatic. Overnight this woman loved sports. Last I heard they got married. I wonder how it turned out.

I'm sorry but it seems like you haven't been paying attention to the media's direction the past 20 years. I too preferred it when the media conducted itself in a Cronkite like fashion but we are living in a TMZ world and have been for a while now.

BB maybe many things but when it comes to the media and their potential to distort, twist, and sensationalize topics at his expense, being naïve isn't one of them. He was ready. Maybe annoyed at the line of questioning, but ready.

I do believe CBS and the publisher talked about it and BB was informed. I think she was the one out of the loop and when it came time to talk about it prior to production and CBS told her everything is on the table that is when Bunny blew a gasket.

Then BB did fail if he allowed his 24yr GF to accompany him on an interview and not being prepared at all.

It would be the same as going into the Superbowl with no gameplan and hoping the players will know what to do.

That's the problem, clearly his GF is affecting his judgment and decision-making skills.

BB doesn't have anywhere near the clout of a celebrity A lister, nor did he have the PR team that they have to prevent such things from happening.

Bill was a fool for bringing his unprepared and unqualified GF in on his interview. She clearly looks like she is trying to use what fame he has to launch her own career.

He is very weird now. I get the whole hoodie look and just wanting to be himself BUT showing up for a nationally televised interview with a sweatshirt and a giant hole over the chest.
Clearly its not a great look for UNC’s brand.

Is that what the book is about, UNC football? I thought it was about the winning principles he learned over a lifetime of football.

Then why does he mention the 24 year old girl in it. I’m pretty certain she didn’t teach him any of his winning football ways.

I agree with this. Bill definitely needs to at least for the short term until things smooth over hire a real manager. I think she might have been able to handle the social media stuff but clearly she got run over by the real media here and maybe that's on them for being niave but I find it very bush league from CBS to act this way over a Sunday morning puff piece regardless of how unprofessional she may have been.

Why is it odd? Being good at football doesnt mean your good at life. Plenty of examples of that out there.
