Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

Its crazy that 9 WRs have gone sub 4.4 so far. Crazy speed.

Make that 10

Edit: 11 Kasif Moore runs a 4.35 after a monster verticle

Keshawn Martin with two fast times.

Just noticed Chris Givens posted a 1.45 10 yard split - very very impressive. He's had an excellent Combine.

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

Coach B BLEW it.

This year's Crop of Wing Backs is DRY.

LAST year's Crop was LUSCIOUS.

~ Lance Kendricks
~ Jordan Cameron
~ Julius Thomas
~ Brett Brackett

There is PRECIOUS little to choose from, THIS year, now that everybody's ONTO Tight Ends...

...Which of course makes the current barren crop even MORE expensive!!

Virgil Green would've represented excellent value last year in the 6th round where Bill took Markell Carter, who most likely would've been avail. in the 7th round, where Bill threw away that pick for the non-priority UDFA talent Mal Williams.

I agree that another pass-catching Wing Back would be nice; however, using one of our (currently) 5 top-100 picks on one, when we are in desperate need of front-7 edge defenders, DBs & WRs is, IMHO, a poor allocation of recources.

Besides, maybe our 3rd WB need will be filled during free agency, or during TC if ****erson is healthy & ready to step up his all-around game.

Maze from Alabama with a 1.42, 10 yard split..

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

Sanu runs too upright and it slows him down..

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

Actually Captain, I that thought occurred to me as well as I was writing my post, but I really don't know much about McDonald, so I didn't follow my gut. All I know about the kid is that he did a decent job for a guy who was thrust into the fray without much preparation, and that GB was pissed that they lost him.

Thanks for bring up McDonald, but the basic point still remains. Substitute McDonald for Wendell and you still have 8 players who are likely to be locks, so at best there is still only one spot open and several guys already ready to compete for it. My position is that outside of WR there is no reason to draft an offensive player in the first 4 rounds

A lot depends on the FO's ability to re-sign either Koppen or Connolly. If they do, then the need to draft a Center with one of our top-100 picks is greatly mitigated, esp. if the FO is as high on McDonald as I & others are (written w/ fingers crossed).

As I wrote in my previous post re: Wing Backs, it's also possible that a free agent C/G is signed to compete for a backup spot. I'm really glad that free agency once again precedes the draft, esp. when we currently have only one 3rd-day pick.

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

Fans of Trumaine Johnson might want to check out his arm length. Go visit NEPD. Don't want to spoil the surprise.

Mark Barron has third longest arms of all DB's.

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

How about Stephen Hill from GA Tech?
Measured 6-4 215.
Ran the fastest 40 time yet, 4.30.
Averaged 29 yards per catch.

Those are some pretty amazing numbers.
He should be able to go over or blow by defenders.
That's a tough match-up.

You're about 90 minutes behind, we've been raving about him for ages

If your looking at the number I'm looking at it has to be a typo. NFL.com has it at 33 1/4"

Keshawn Martin looking good.....

I'm thinking that's a typo.

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

Dudes, Devon Wylie was made for this offense.....

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

Sanu a bad drop on the over-the-shoulder drill..

Sanu looked good there in the gauntlet. RAN through it instead of gliding and kept his hands out away from his body..

Yeah I started to think that. He'd look more like King kong. So only Iloka has longer arms than Mark Barron. Hmmmm.

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

Very nice Gauntlet from Marvin Jones.

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

Here goes Devon Wylie.....come on kid blow everyone away.

I can't wait to see how 3-cone and short shuttle, do you know what his 10yd split was?

I'm desperately hoping we get him in the late rounds.

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

I'd love to see us take a flyer on guys like Devon Wylie, BJ Cunningham, or Eric Page.
