1. Adam Pac Man Jones will turn out to be a great trade for Dallas. With similar impact as the Randy Moss Deal last year.
Their Defense will be MUCH tougher to pass on than last year and he will be in the top three in punt returns in the league
the Cowboys will be in the Super Bowl.

2. Cleveland Brown's addition of Shaun Rogers will make Romeo Crennel look like a genius. The Browns will be extremely tough to run on and their defense will be GREAT. Their offense however will struggle more this year as Derek Anderson finds it much more difficult on the second go round. they will advance to the second round of the playoffs

3. Dolphins will continue to be awful and their young QB's will struggle. It will not matter if it is Henne or Beck....tough times ahead.

4. Oakland Raiders will have by far, the most overpaid player on offense in the league with Mcfadden

5. Giants will return to mediocrity this year. they will quickly learn how difficult it is to sustain the level of play required to win championships.
their running game will be awful and Eli Manning will struggle

6. Peyton Manning will have a huge bounce back year, contending for MVP and the Colts will give the Patriots a run for their money for top NFL offense.
Their receiver Gonzales will have a big year!

7. Green Bay will struggle big time and with a much tougher schedule this year and basically a rookie quarterback, they will not make the playoffs.

8. St. Louis Rams will be the most surprising team this year. Bulger and Jackson will have huge years and they will make the playoffs.

9. Miami Dolphins will have the first darft pick in 2009 for the second year in a row

10. Matt Cassell, Kelley Washington and Alexander will all be cut by the Patriots this year.

I agree Pac Man was a great deal that I've always wanted, but no way he has Moss like impact.

Don't see why Washington would be cut.

I see Peyton and the 'Boys season ending as it usually does, after the first playoff game. Also the Browns haven't proven anything to me yet.

I don't see Washington being cut.

Is there a reason (beyond vindictiveness) that you believe the Giants running game will be awful? They have a quality starter whose injury problems are not handicapping the team due to some really good depth. They were near the top of the league in the running game last year. That's a pretty big drop from one of the top running teams to awful.

just like they were supposed to be this year, huh? I'll believe that when I see it. Pac Man does improve their defense, but not to the extent Randy changed our offense.

People are too tough on the Giants. I think they will be a good team, not mediocre like people say. They will be second or third best in the NFC.

1. I don't think Pac Man will have a Moss impact (that's awfully difficult defensively with the rules they way they are and the game played the way it is) but I agree it will be a great deal for Dallas.

2. I don't think the Browns will make the playoffs. Last year they benefitted from a ridiculously easy schedule, which this year is very difficult. Jamal Lewis is done and Derek Anderson was only average the 2nd half of the season.

3. True.

4. That's not true. You picked the wrong Raider.

5. The Giants will make the playoffs. Winning the Super Bowl game itself was a fluke but the Giants have now made the playoffs 3 straight years. I think only the Pats and Colts can say that, maybe Seattle too. So it's not like they came from absolutely nowhere. They have a good team that got contributions from 8 rookies last year, a young QB, a good young OL, and a tremendous pass rush. Also their key loss was Kawika Mitchell. They'll be good again.

6. Agree.

7. Not at all impossible, but I haven't seen Rodgers enough to make a fair judgement on that one. The rest of their team though is very good.

8. Their division is horrid so not impossible. They were killed with injuries last year. I prefer Arizona but, well, it's Arizona.

9. Atlanta.

10. Cassel and Alexander, maybe, but no way Washington gets cut. He's too valuable to special teams, and the staff puts an immense value on special teams. Plus he could have more of a role on offense this year. He's only one injury away.

I think the Packers will struggle. I think Aaron Rodgers will be killed for it. And everyone will ignore that he played as well as Favre has in recent years with the exception of last year.

Not a chance of Kelley Washington getting cut.

The Giants will go 18-0 only to lose to the Patriots in Super Bowl XLIII.

Marcus you forgot 1.

Mangini will be let go this year ... perhaps before the season is over. :eat3:

They needed a QB ... Clemens is not it and Noodle is staying ... and they blew it ...

Also I predict the AFC championship will be Patriots vs Chargers ... they will be tough to beat.

I actually predict that the Jets will have very modest gains from their offseason acquistions and Mangini throws his assistants under the bus and I expect Brian Schottenheimer and Bob Sutton to get fired at the end of the season. Brian Daboll is the most likely replacement at OC.

Wow ... Mangini goes Darth Vader ... I can see it.

i predict the colts will lose the chargers in the playoffs (not sure which round)

I don't know. Pacman has been out of football for a year and his one good year all his INTs came against QBs with a propensity to give up the ball (at least during that season). I think he can help for the return game, but I don't know if he is going to be as productive on defense as some seem to think he will.

2. Cleveland Brown's addition of Shaun Rogers will make Romeo Crennel look like a genius. The Browns will be extremely tough to run on and their defense will be GREAT. I think Rogers will help, but he has injury issues that could derail him. He would have to stay healthy all year which is definitely not a given. I do think the Browns' offense will not be as good as last year.

3. Dolphins will continue to be awful and their young QB's will struggle. It will not matter if it is Henne or Beck....tough times ahead.

A given that they won't be great this year, but Parcells isn't banking on it.

4. Oakland Raiders will have by far, the most overpaid player on offense in the league with Mcfadden

I don't think McFadden will be nearly as good as some might think he is, but he won't even been be the most overpaid player on his own team. There are a lot of overpaid players on offense in the league and a few will be more overpaid. Jake Long may end up being the most overpaid offensive player from this year's draft if all he does is become a RT. I think McFadden is going to turn into a bust or at least a disapointment, but not the most overpaid player on offense.

5. Giants will return to mediocrity this year. they will quickly learn how difficult it is to sustain the level of play required to win championships.
their running game will be awful and Eli Manning will struggle

The Giants will be in the mix for a playoff spot and at least a Wild Card is likely. They are in the NFC. They will not be a strong Super Bowl contender though.

6. Peyton Manning will have a huge bounce back year, contending for MVP and the Colts will give the Patriots a run for their money for top NFL offense.
Their receiver Gonzales will have a big year!

Manning didn't have that bad of a year last year. I don't expect a huge bounce back. I do expect a drop off from the Colts as a whole, although not a huge one. Manning wil not return to his MVP form until his line is more consistent and Joseph Addai (the most overrated RB in the league) can get more than 4.0 YPC for more than half a season. I think this could be the year that Jacksonville steals the division away from the Colts.

7. Green Bay will struggle big time and with a much tougher schedule this year and basically a rookie quarterback, they will not make the playoffs.

Rodgers isn't basically a rookie. He has been practicing behind Favre for years and has gotten playing time. I think he will end up being a surprise in a good way for the Packers. I don't expect him to make people forget about Favre, but he will be an above average QB in his first full season as a starter.

I personally think too many first round QBs turn into busts because they are thrown to the Wolves too early (see David Carr, Joey Harrington, etc.). Slowly developing Rodgers behind Favre may have done wonders.

8. St. Louis Rams will be the most surprising team this year. Bulger and Jackson will have huge years and they will make the playoffs.

Could happen, but winning the AFC West is no big feat. That is the division where everyone fights not to make the playoffs.

9. Miami Dolphins will have the first darft pick in 2009 for the second year in a row

Kinda redundant from a previous prediction. I think they will have a top 5 pick, but not the #1 overall. I like a lot of the Dolphins moves. They are a significantly improved team. But they are rebounding from one of the worst team in the last decade. I can see them having 5, maybe six wins with their easy schedule.

10. Matt Cassell, Kelley Washington and Alexander will all be cut by the Patriots this year.

I agree with most that Washington will make the club. Cassell and Alexander may not though.

Here are my ten predictions:

1.) Biggest Surprise team (in a good way): Carolina. I don't know why, but I am high on them this year.

2.) Biggest Suprise team (in a bad way): Seattle. It looks like Holmgren is going to go out on a low note. They got a lot of questions in their skill positions already and Holmgren is a lame duck coach. Like Cowher before him, the team will just not respond to him and the season will be tanked.

3.) Jacksonville will either win the AFC South outright or at least give the Colts one hell of a scare all the way through week 17.

4.) The best free agent acquistion by any team this year will be Alge Crumpler by the Titans. I still think if he can stay healthy, Crumpler is an elite TE. I think Young will love the guy to give him a dump off outlet. He will easily be the top receiver on the Titans this year.

5.) The worst free agent acquisition will be Justin Smith for the 49ers.

6.) The elite teams in the AFC will be the Pats, Chargers, Jags, and Colts. The elite teams in the NFC will be the Cowboys, Vikes, Saints, and Panthers.

7.) Victor Hobson will end up being a solid starter at ILB and Jets fans may be wonder more why they let him go than they will Jonathan Vilma (who will have a solid year moving back to the 4-3) because at least Hobson fit the system at ILB.

8.) The Pats won't come close to having the offense they had last year (although it will be #1 or #2 in the league), but the team will be far more balanced in terms of offense and defense much like how they went from one of the best defenses of all time and an average offense in 2003 to one of the leagues best in offense and defense in 2004.

9.) The Cowboys will have another one and done in the playoffs and Wade Phillips will be fired for Jason Garrett.

10.) Adrian Peterson will be the league MVP and get close to 2,000 yards.

I predict the Colts close the new retractable Lucas Oil Stadium roof during all 8 of their home games to make sure that Goober 18 has the absolute perfect conditions to throw the football in. Yes that includes those Sept and Oct games in fear of Goober having to deal with too much sun or the possibility of 2-2.5 mph wind.

These predictions do not, of course, take major injuries to (multiple) key players into account.

NEP go undefeated in division; Buffalo/Toronto near .500; Miami & R-a-t-s, neither with a QB, improve only slightly.

Bungles implode, Lewis fired, #85 is 86'ed; Ravens near .500; Browns' D improves, O regresses, vie with Steelers for 9/10-win division winner.

Dolts squeak by Jax - who just can't win in Indy - again; Texans near .500; Titans regress, as Vince Young runs more & wins less.

SD Steroids win division while at least one teammate wins 4-game suspension; Donkeys have more arrests than wins; Faiders employ most overpaid, least productive O-backfield in NFL history, and Kiffin becomes youngest HC to be both hired & fired; Chefs score < 250 points, Spermie fires more assistants, but hey he gives a great interview.

Cowpukes fall back to pack, Romeo falls back to earth, TO pressers get crazier, Pacman impacts local strip club business more than D-backfield; Ellie starts getting same treatment from zebras that his horse-faced older brother has received for the past 6 years, thus helping jints win games they should lose; Skins regress; Eagles tread water.

Packers fall back to pack, still win 10 games; Vikes still one QB & WR away from being taken seriously; kittens & cubbies vie for division's - if not NFC's - worst team.

Saints hold off .500 Panthers for division; Tampa struggles to score enough points; Matt Ryan runs for his life, barely escapes with it.

Seahawks v. Cardinals: first to 8 wins takes division; can Whisenhunt learn from mistakes (2 losses to 49ers? Thanks for nothing, Kenny); Lambs & 49ers vie for 3rd place, loser has HC fired.

Great breakdown, capt. stone! LMAO
