Hard to believe that it's been 17 years since the Pats drafted a linebacker out of the U of Arizona that most analysts said was too short and too small to play in the NFL .....17 years later that player with a heart bigger than his body is heading to the Pats HOF in august as one of the greatest Pats LBs ever.

Tedy's still the man, he was great on the field and I've enjoyed his work at ESPN off the field too. Many happy returns Tedy!

Speaking of birthdays and sports dudes getting older - there's a new documentary out tonight on the NBA channel (I don't even know if I get it) and the review I read of it makes watching sound worthwhile. It's on Dr. J, Julius Erving, a mega-star if there ever was one. He was a favorite of mine and, brace yourself, he is now 63!! Wow, time flies. Man, what a sight Dr. J was - just vaulting to the hoop like gravity didn't exist and jamming it down on everyone, even the big guys like Jabbar. Hope the youngsters who never saw him play can check out this show. You'll be amazed.

Bruschi is my favorite Pats player of all time. Not the best player, but no player better epitomized the Dynasty era Patriots.
