As a Gator alumni and dedicated fan who watches every football and basketball game... every year, I could tell you that I don't care who likes my Gators or why they do.

If they just like our colors, cool.
If they date a girl who is a student, cool.
If they like one player on the team, cool.
If they don't even know the QB's name, cool.
If they became a fan yesterday, cool.
If they made a mistake and thought they were watching FSU, but cheered for us, cool.
If they slipped on a banana peel onto some blue and orange body paint then stumbled drunk into the stadium by accident but then started cheering for our team, well that's cool too.

Bottom line, anyone who supports my team for ANY reason is OK in my book. No proof of how knowledgable about the team required. No demonstration of knowing what a 1st down is necessary. No certificate with a date showing when you became a fan is needed. Some people think they own the keys to the fan club and it's bizarre to me.

I agree that Cannon could have a real good shot at the right guard slot and I think that there is going to be a mild surprise regarding the 3rd tackle position with Zusevics beating out Svitek.

I'd actually like if Zusevics did beat him out because I've heard he is capable of playing guard as well which gives us even more versatility. Even of Zusevics doesn't win the spot initially he is someone I want on PS without a doubt.

As for my "Tebow agenda", I was upfront with the people there right from the start. Sanchez to be the starter, Tebow to be the backup and run the WC. Now that I think about it, that's what Rex brought him in to do, so what exactly was this "Tebow agenda" that you refer to ?

Me ? I'm a guy who thinks that Tebow is actually a decent QB given his level of experience and one who could well become a very good QB given the proper development.


See, you can't even point out anything that I've said or done. You can't point to any outlandish claims that I've made about Tebow because I haven't made any.

You can't point to any demands that I have made concerning Tebow because I haven't made any.

You can't point to any instances of me saying that Tebow should start over Brady, because I haven't said it.


In short, you can't point to a single thing that I have said wrt Tebow that should cause anyone here some concern.


My position is straight forward and very easy to understand, even for someone like you.

I think Tim Tebow is a better QB than he's given credit for.

That said, I think Tom Brady is obviously a much better QB. The gap in ability is stupidly large. Therefore, DUH, Brady is the unquestioned starter. Tebow's role will be to try and catch on and develop as QB3 to start with. Depending on what he's done with his mechanics, there's a chance he might contend for the QB2 spot at some point, or do well enough as QB3 than Belichick and company would have no qualms about trading Mallet.


Now, tell me which part of the above is all that controversial.

I have and I got to see plenty of Mettenberger. He's overrated. When he gets to the NFL, he has to fix his planting mechanics because they are exactly like watching Bledsoeitis when he was throwing off of his back foot when he had pressure in his face.

Between that and his long arm action, he has a lot of work to do.

No offense - but you are out of your bleeping mind. No quarterback in the history of this league will succeed over the long term with a completion rate of 47% and you expect Tebow to do so?

I've stayed on the sidelines of this one for the most part; but, I'm not sure the assumption Tebow will stay a 47% Pass Completion % QB over time is valid. I put together a quick chart of Active QB's with a Pass Comp % of 60 % or less in their first years as starters.


For the most part, most QB's Comp % gets better over time. Also, there are some very good QB's who had anemic Comp %'s in their first years that significantly improved their Comp %'s over time. There are a ton of variables that go into an NFL QB's development. ie. Alex Smith must have had 6 different Offensive Coordinators in his first 6 years. When Harbaugh arrived, Smith's game flourished.

If Tebow makes the 53 man roster, he'll be with one of the best franchises for QB development >> NO DOUBT. To be fair, learning the NFL game on the fly with John Fox and Rex Ryan as your Head Coaches, isn't optimal.

Who knows how any of this off-season and training camp will play out. I'll support the Pats and every player on the roster without consideration for where Tebow lands on the depth chart or practice squad. I'll root for every Pats player to get better, including Tebow. If BB sees Tebow as an asset to the Pats, then I do also.
