TE Tony Moeaki Waived

I can't believe that anyone wouldn't a take a chance on a very talented guy who's had two 15 game seasons with good numbers over a very low end JAG (Mulligan).

What's the downside? Mulligan gets scooped up?

If Moeaki gets hurt with us in the last 7 games and/or the playoffs, I know that Mulligan will be right where we left him.

Fixed it for ya!

The Pats have used up their allotment of vowels at the TE position.....Hoomanawanui stays.....Moeaki is out

False! Hoomanawanui does not have an E in it. Not even gronkowski does. E has been missed since Hern so Moeaki would be good complement!

he wont clear waivers i think. if no one else , the jets will pick him up.

Nah he's worse...He's the Glass IR Dowling of tight ends. Critics say Gronk is injury prone? please....This guy is injury prone.

Moeaki's played 15 games twice in 4 seasons. He's made of glass, but we're talking regular glass. Dowling appears to be made of sugar glass.

Dowling is the break away glass roof that Michael Douglas fell through in the movie "The Game".

i hope the pats put in a waiver claim for him, there is a report that the steelers are looking to put in a claim for him

expected since he played under haley i think

This guy isn't like the normal released players whom we want because of inaccurate expectations, this man is a player

If he's going through waivers the pats will put a claim in, if he's not even more likely we go after him

But, if Moeaki goes through waivers....wouldn't that totally defeat the purpose of the injury settlement he just had with KC? That settlement is over money. So, If anyother team agrees to pick up the contract, well, that's where Moeaki's money is now coming from. So a settlement with KC -- over the same contract another teams just picked up -- would be unnecessary, no?

Oh, and Moeaki played under Charlie Weis in his rookie year. Good chance he'll 'get' the system.

The injury settlement gets him off of IR but he still has to pass through waivers because he has less than 4 accrued seasons.

I strongly endorse a waiver pick up or Free Agent signing of Moeaki for the New England Patriots.

He reached an injury settlement today. He's now in the waivers process.

If he's any good I doubt he'll fall to the Pats. Plus, he's making more $1.3M this year. something tells me the Pats would rather go with Mulligan for peanuts.

This line of thinking is ignorant and has no basis in truth. They don't overspend for big name guys and it puts them in the position to pick up guys like this mid-season year, after year, after year. kinda like how they win year, after year, after year. I know, it really sucks watching your team win like that.

They have indeed over-spent for big-name guys, or do those of OchoStinko & Fat Albert
(among others) not ring a bell?

They got out of the Haynesworth deal when the going was good. Thanks to the bucs for picking him up and taking the tab for the rest of the year.

Ocho was here way too long. but stuff happens.

clearly we should have given Mike Wallace a $60 million dollar contract.

That other dude cant be talking about welker, because welker left for less total money at the rate hes currently playing.

I get your point but that wasn't what I was referring to and those were both trades. I was talking about FA primarily and top tier FA's for any given year i.e. Mike Wallace, Karlos Dansby a few years ago, Mario williams etc..
