Surprise cuts this camp?

They could but not sure if they'll find a partner. He hasn't been healthy and when he has he hasn't exactly been all world.
He’s got good football on tape and other teams were interested in him as a rookie prospect.
I think Wolf has some regrets about that contract he gave him. Rham was good a couple seasons ago... meh since then. 4.0 YPC in 2023 and 3.9 YPC in 2024... most JAG backs could do that without the big contract. And yes the fumbles.

I think he's a candidate. We'll see.
Wolf’s not in charge anymore luckily. Also they had the worst offensive line in the NFL, that is not the RB’s fault…it was Wolf’s actually.

Saquon Barkley finally had a great offensive line in front of him for the first time in his career… he nearly doubled his best rushing season. It’s a team game. The Patriots can’t afford to cut good players.

that is not the RB’s fault
It is to a degree. A JAG back can't find holes... a special back can make them.

I wish the Pats had the Eagles OL but unfortunately we don't...

Strange, Bourne, Polk, Jennings, Tavai, Lowe, Boutte all would not surprise me
I would say this is my list. No real "surprises" out of that group so I would say Rhamondre would be a surprise cut to some extent. Last regime overpaid at a position you shouldn't pay. Ive seen people say he would be worth trading but I'd be shocked if we got much more than a 6th rounder.

Rhamondre had to work extraordinarily hard to make modest gains, the QB’s had to run for their lives…

There’s a massive difference between the best line ((Eagles) to average to league worst… the Pats were league worst.

If Rhamondre has to be Barry Sanders to be considered “good” I’d say your value system is out of whack.

Rham is the lead back.. he's fully on board with what he has to do as a player. He will be here and give all the opportunity to keep his starting job. You need a back like rham to her those tough yards when especially in November and December.

I am not necessarily rooting for him to get cut. I just think he's overpaid and because of that has a larger chance than some others. With a proper offensive line and a solid rotation of backs (which we are hoping to have this year) I think Stevenson can be a good player for us.

Agreed, Henderson is 200 pounds soaking wet. You need a power back and a speed back.

Rham being paid was because the organization had to spend cap dollars being what last in cash spending? I view rham similarly to how Henry was with the Titans he was a average back and when Vrabel came he became who he is. Not saying Rham is Henry.. but rham could thrive under Vrabel.

Yes Henderson will be integral to the offense as well. But you need a veteran work horse back and another guy like Gibson to take pressure of the rookie. Josh will mix Henderson in on alot of different packages.

Let’s be more realistic work these cuts

Hooper, Gibson,Hollins,Bourne, Tavai, Dugger, Baker, Polk, Mapu, Dobbs, Chasisson.
Great list. Hooper will stay as his $$s are low but on a one year contract so it might be Dippre and a draft pick next year. Gibson could be bumped by Larison. Hollins is an extension of our offensive line and the only tall reciever, 6'4", for the red zone (where the Pats were almost last place in 2024) so he is a lock. Bourne definitely can be gone. Tavai is slow and might not make it. Duggar will rebound after his high ankle sprain surgery. Baker is toast - out of the league after the summer. Polk is toast - I doubt the Pats can even find a trading partner, maybe a conditional 7th? Mapu is an enigma, I hope he blossoms this year but so far he has been spotty. He should be the fast sideline to sideline LB type but he has only disappointed. Dobbs is a lock after trading Milton. Chaisson - I have no idea. YMMV.

Not gonna lie, outside of the very obvious players (Maye, Gonzalez, etc…) there isn’t really any cut that would overly surprise me.

Good insights. I think this will be a topic that bears watching as camp goes on.. who's available, who's play has picked up/tailed off.. we'll know alot when it comes to the joint practices.

If Chism really becomes a true slot threat in camp it could make pop expendable as a possible trade candidate.

Appreciate it.

Pop should have more upside and flexibility than Polk and Baker so I think he could make it along with Chism.

Not his fault that Belichick bungled the position and then had Patricia be his OL coach his rookie year.
On another topic of note. Drake has already showed up at camp. That's commitment and leadership.
