Agreed, though I'm a little surprised that no Pats fans are freaking out at BOTH Branch and Valentine being injured. IMO our 3-man DT rotation is a major key to this game.

I'm concerned about them both but I think it's more of a management issue with those two as they've been dealing with their maladies for a few weeks now.

Not a doc but how he could play if he has pic on left is incredible.

In the Steelers/Rams SB in 1979 Jack Youngblood played with the pic on the left. Pro Bowl too.

In Westworld a guy drinks a bottle of milk and it's spurting out the bullet holes in his guts and he doesn't seem to notice.

Jack Youngblood was a "host," otay?

I don't think the Branch thing is relevant at all as it is not turf toe. And Valentine has had back issues throughout the season and they have been dealt with. If there were any concern over his health one of the PS DTs would have been activated. At least that's how I rationalize it.

there are probably more injuries on the team that we aren't hearing about - it's football.

As well as Branch talking about his injury earlier and him not being fazed about it one way or the other. And Valentine (at least on social media so YMMV) has not mentioned anything about his mood being down because he can't play because his back would hinder him.

This was his latest Instagram about a day ago:

The Texan's front 7 scheme against us will be good if we can put pressure on Mack's foot to see how it will hold up. Lets go attack and surprise them because I am sure they have practice expecting us to not attack and just hold the line.
This Atlanta offense can attack fast, they also have the record this year of long 6 plus min drives. So if you give them room, they will take it and be patient.

Branch has nothing in the way of finesse moves, but he's one of the best interior bullrushers in the NFL. There are a handful of interior lineman in the game that can stop his bull rush one on one, and none of them play for the Falcons. Collapsing the pocket up the middle will cause problems for Ryan in terms of stepping into throws. Mack will be severely disadvantaged against Branch, so it's difficult to make a decision in terms of which of Brown and Branch to double.

Really? Didn't Branch just pop up on the injury report this week because his toe was stepped on in practice?

Valentine has definitely been dealing with the back injury for a while, and IMO it's made a difference in his effectiveness. He looked like a tremendous find early in the season.

They added Branch there on Thursday. They said he was "good-to-go". He also said:

As for VV:

It is something to watch since he's been dealing with this injury since late October, though.

My understanding is the toe is new and he has something else that has been lingering.

If the Pats win and Mack is limited. Excuse already wrapped up ready to go. I hope Falcons are full strength and just get smacked in the face.

Something, something Brady's ankle, Gronk's ankle.. something, something..

Not that I disagree, but he also looked like a tremendous find in the goal line stand against the Steelers...... Hope he can push through it again for one more game.....
