Was it John Fox who admitted he didn't realize the SB would be so noisy?

Yeah. Dan Quinn's been there before so he should know better. Of course on the other hand, so should have John Fox.....

Bill Belichick on eve of Super Bowl LI: ‘Now it’s the waiting game, but I think we’re ready’

Very different SB week than the yrs past. No walkthrough today. Very light practice ysterday. Team has been more open to the media, brady doing stuff on Conan etc, no BB switching team hotels before the night of the game. Very very different mode from BB this time. I guess maybe he is trying to enjoy this more as he feels coming to the end of the line ?
I think he just feels like they're ready. Over-preparing a young team like this one could backfire.

His apparent confidence is confidence-inspiring.

Here is the link to Matt Chatham's eve-of-battle podcast with Brady Popinga and Brady Quinn. It's awesome -- a much better use of 40 minutes than trolling the Atlanta boards or listening to talk radio, IMHO.

But if you're not up for the whole thing, he tells an absolutely amazing story around 12:00 in (and tells it very well).

In short, it's this.

Belichick has a very good sense of where things stand with his teams and, by Saturday of Super Bowl week, everything that can be done in the way of preparation has been done. (Which is why Faulk whining about the walkthrough being filmed is so weak. As MC says, it never happened -- and, if it did, no one would learn anything they didn't know already.)

Anyway, Chatham describes the final meeting before the Eagles game. Everything is normal, there is stuff on the screen, Belichick has his clicker. But then he stops and waits. Then he pulls back a cloth and the team can see ... the two Lombardis that the team already has. And he leaves it there.

I'm feeling there's a perfect storm brewing for the Patriots, especially now that Brady's mom has overcome her health issues enough to be at the SB.

This. Has zero to do with this end of the line media fantasy. Rather I beleive they are supremely confident and comfortable with their preparation.

If I'm ATL, BB and Co being this relaxed should send chills down my spine.

When was the last time a league MVP won the Super Bowl?
Edit, the last person to have done it is Kurt Warner in 1999.

It does seem fairytale-ish. I don't know if that makes me more or less worried.

I'm a friggin mess right now.

In about 23 hours, I'll be hold up in the fetal position, teeth chattering and all.

Feck, Matt Ryan may not win MVP. It has been the harbinger for the team whose player wins that award. I hope they give Ryan both OPOY and MVP.

Any truth to the rumor he's headlining a "Highway to Heaven" reboot?

Schefter reporting C Mack with play with a fracture in his left leg. Uncertain though how long or well he can play.
