More from Schefter on Mack:

One source said that if this were the regular season, Mack could miss six to eight weeks, but he will be out there Sunday, with concern running high among Atlanta officials.

The Falcons are confident Mack will hold up in pass-blocking, but they are uncertain if he will be effective on downfield blocks, or if his leg will hold up.

(via Sources: Mack to play in SB with fibula fracture)

As I said before, it did not look good when he came down against the Packers. Rushing him back was a mistake, they were already 10/17-0 at that point and he was on the field five minutes later.

Falcons fans have to be freaking out. He is their best OLineman.

If this was any player on the Pats O line this board would be deeply concerned- myself included.

It would be one of those ominous signs

That means they will likely double team malcolm brown. We need to run it down their throats.

Great . Let Branch have 1:1 matchups all day.

With mack hurt and chester already a liability, they are weak in the interior.

Also read 1 source a few days ago that he's been coaching the backup more than practicing. Something to keep an eye on.

I am not sure which thread to use as there is a pregame thread already open where I posted more context from a Doctor on twitter on the injury:

Maybe a mod can close this thread or just merge them ?

As has been the case all year the defense has to win this.

2008 from the other side's viewpoint?

If Matty Ice can't throw the ball, that wunnerful receiving corps can't do them any good.

Everybody's assuming the Pats keep it all in front of them and rely on the front 3 or 4 alone. Well you know how I feel about predictions. Obviously I don't "know anything" and if I did, I'd be a traitor for putting it on a bulletin board...

But this might be the game that the Pats dial up a little extra pressure

Think about it. Everybody thinks you'll take away their best player, and that's Julio Jones. No it's not, it's their QB.

Turn that O-line into a bunch of turnstiles and we might have a massacre on our hands.

I predicted last week - Mingo in the A gap!

If they have to devote help to Mack, they should provide some good opportunities for guys like Ninko, Long, and Sheard off the edge.

Agreed, though I'm a little surprised that no Pats fans are freaking out at BOTH Branch and Valentine being injured. IMO our 3-man DT rotation is a major key to this game.

Not a doc but how he could play if he has pic on right is incredible.

In the Steelers/Rams SB in 1979 Jack Youngblood played with the pic on the right. Pro Bowl too.
