He is good to great on a stacked team.

That's the concern though, right? Too easy...when the going gets tough, is he really that good?

He hasn't had to win a game in the 4th quarter all season. It would be nice if the Chefs can put a little pressure on this team and make it a competitive game.

So much talk about Mahomes, but what he’s doing has numerous comps in the SB era…he may be doing it a little faster or a little better but this isn’t historic.

Meanwhile, what if the Eagles win, what Roseman has done in Philly has not been done in the salary cap era. Building two SB winning teams with a different coach and different quarterback. Five years apart is a long time…few players remain from the SB52 team.

It's baffling how Mahomes gets more credit for this:
9 points
26/49 53.1%
270 passing yards
5.5 YPA
0 TD
2 INT
52.3 passer rating

than Brady does for this
33 points
28/48 58.3%
505 passing yards
10.5 YPA
3 TD
0 INT
115.4 passer rating

Both were going against the #5 defense.

Yeah but Brady can’t throw an incomplete pass while horizontal!

30% of you are hitting the medical mj??
WTF?
Please explain how this flawed Chefs team can win?
Hurts tweaks his shoulder in the first quarter? That's the only scenario. Maybe the Eagles luck runs out?
Hurts has a tweaked shoulder, Mahomes has a tweaked ankle.

IMHO, Mahomes relies on his ankle more than Hurts relies on his shoulder. That may seem like a crazy thing to say about 2 QB's, but the ideal Eagles game is one where they don't need Hurts to pass anything above 200 yards.

I do, however, have to say I have more faith in Mahomes to pull a come from behind in the 4th quarter than Hurts. Looking forward to the game!

lmao this is so true. **** Mahomes and all of his ballwashers

“but the OL injuries! Mahomes had a hurt toe!”

2007 pats: Brady high ankle sprain, Neal getting injured during the game

2011 pats: Brady injured shoulder in the 3rd quarter (I think it was the 3rd. I know he was 20/23 before the injury) useless decoy Gronk in what was (and still is) the greatest TE season of all time

2017 pats: no Edelman, Cooks out after 1 quarter. hell, Brady’s gashed throwing hand probably wasn’t even healed either

Didn't San Fran do that with Walsh/Seifert and Montana/Young?

That’s a good point but just doesn’t feel the same because that team never really “reset” and remained dominant. I think it would be the Walsh/Seifert team transitioning to Mariucci.

76 Raiders--Madden/Stabler
80 Raiders--Flores/Plunkett

Right but not salary cap era. Niners also pre-dated it, though their SB with Young was in the first year it began.

If Mahomes wins, there's a big silver lining for Brady stans. There's always going to be a guy playing who is "the best ever but not most accomplished ever." That's the nature of sports...over time, it's like evolution, and the stats get more efficient, the QBs play more games, throw more passes, etc. This happened to Montana after he retired (Young was GOAT 1A, then Manning was GOAT 1A for awhile.) It happened as Brady was playing with Rodgers.

So that's inevitable. Sports discussion isn't interesting when there's no debate.

I like Mahomes better than Manning and Rodgers, and with a second SB, he's probably going to surpass Rodgers already on the GOAT list and getting ready to surpass Manning. If you want Brady to remain on the pedestal, I don't think there's any reason to worry about Mahomes until/ unless he reaches 4 SB wins because then, yes, he's really in the conversation. Sure, sports talk will call him the GOAT right now or compare the two, but that's just prisoner of the moment stuff. Aaron Rodgers? Who is that? Steve Young? Yeah, they're not shiny and exciting anymore. All that hot air for years about Rodgers just dissipated in an instant when Mahomes became the new prototype.
