Super Bowl 56 might be moved to Dallas!

I think the NFL letting it leak that they were "looking at" other venues was simply a warning shot across California's bow that the state should not restrict attendance at the Super Bowl.

And, as I mentioned above, CA pols were tripping all over themselves yesterday to confirm that they indeed are not restricting attendance.

If California doesn't allow a full stadium, it will be moved.

Having said that, CA politicians have all spent the past day scrambling to announce as often as they can that things will proceed as planned, so I do not expect any move.
Its still bound to be a disaster.

The Super Bowl is so much more than the game. If done right, the week prior to kickoff has a Madri Gras like vibe to it.

It'll be played in L.A.

I was at SoFi earlier this year....it is a VERY OPEN VENUE....almost like being outdoors. And they checked my vaxx card and everyone was masked up.

The 1/31/21 Grammys have been postponed until further notice and the NCAA moved the 21 Rose Bowl to Dallas.

You must show your papers to get in any CA public attraction. Either a Vac card or proof of a negative covid test. Some folks there for the SB will not put up with BS and that is why they would never live there.

then they shouldn't go?

I have never been there.

My sister was there for work and said its a dumpster fire.
I live just south of LA for half the year. Not crazy about the city - don't really like any big cities - but South Bay (Manhattan, Hermosa, Redondo) is heaven. Laid back, walk everywhere you want to go, watch the dolphins playing in the waves, surfing heaven. Certainly not suited for a SB crowd, though. Culver City and Santa Monica (not the beach) are great places for families. I've got grandkids in the Culver City schools and their experiences there blow away even MA. Really a fantastic community.

As far as cities go, I'd take LA over Dallas any day of any week. Or Houston, which is boring (I was at the Pats-Panthers SB there), and Jacksonville is awful and can't handle the crowds at all (was there for Pats-Eagles SB).

Miami really seems like the perfect SB city.

I'd love to see Foxboro bid for one in a few years. Obviously have to expand Rt 1 and transit and general infrastructure more than it is plus add a bunch of seats but that shouldn't take more than 3-4 years right? Just in time for Mac to be ready to lead a Super Bowl team.

Sure it will be cold but so was the one in Metlife Stadium a few years back.

They never got the big casino needed to host the super bowl. Nothing to do there, too far from Boston and Providence.

Houston put on a great Super Bowl 38. They have a Bourbon street like area downtown with bars and restaurants. The city itself inside the 610 loop is being revitalized.

Im sure there are pristine areas of LA where the police wont tolerate lawlessness.

I'd love to see Foxboro get one because I would enjoy hearing the whiny crybaby POS media jackholes who think the Super Bowl should cater to their vacationing needs get all triggered. It won't happen but it's fun to imagine.

Technically not LA but I worked in North Hollywood and Burbank. Heard mixed reviews about NoHo's safety but I didn't see any problems and I thought it was nice enough.

LA itself is alright but I was near downtown so maybe other areas are worse.

Sorry, Gillette is an average stadium compared to Sofi, ATT Stadium, Mercedez Benz, etc....

No ****. What part of "It won't happen" made you think I see Gillette as a viable selection?

All of the major sports should pull these events out of California until the elected officials in that state remove their heads from their asses.
That's a huge rebuilding process that could take many years.
