Stop the whining and complaining; it was a great season

Of course they lost to a better team, they lost 2 out of 3.
What yardstick do you base who is better on, if it isn't who wins?
The Jets were a better team this year, granted not by much.
Lets not fall into the loser mentality of 'the best team didnt win' because thats crap.
Looking to next year, I like our chances though.

Well they did get out coached twice

Think how the Seattle fans must feel about their team and compare that to the whiners in New England.

Ah, the Seattle Seahawks actually WON a playoff game this year, knocking off the defending Super Bowl champion. You know the team that skull drug us last year on Monday night?

They certainly got outplayed twice.
Coaching is part of the game. Whether its better play or better coaching, it still adds up to the better team winning.
PS....You could either call every game coaching or no games coaching dependin on the definition. Very few games are decided by game day coaching, and most are decided by season long coaching, teaching, motivating, scheming, adjustment, practice, team building, etc , etc.

I agree to an extent. But the recent failures and the repugnance of the Jets makes this a bit tougher than it would otherwise be.

By the way, I HATE STREAKS. Interceptions, etc. Do you realize they'll be talking about Brady's winning "steak" at home next year? Give me a break.
I hear you, and I have done a 180 on that. I DONT CARE. Say whatever they want, it doesnt matter to me.
I despise this loss, but my feelings would be no different if it were a different opponnent or if the Jets were actually classy. Losing is losing, and none of the peripheral matters.

Well, to be honest, this one stings a bit more than some of the others (SuperBowl 42, and '06 AFCCG not withstanding of course, way too brutal), just simply because of WHO we lost to this time around. But, I agree losing is losing, especially in the one-and-done post season. It is what it is !!!!

It was not a heartbreaking loss; the Jets did not steal the game. The Jets outplayed the Patriots for almost the entire game.

It was a great season.

Everyone is starting to sound like Felger; Mr Second-guess and 20-20 hindsight. He is trying to tell us how he could have coached the game better....

It's okay that some have not gotten over the loss yet. Although I have myself, everyone is different emotionally to some degree. Who am I to tell those who have not gotten over the loss what to do?

I am really looking forward to this off-season. Between the labor negotiations, the draft, and free agency, there will be a lot to keep interest during the spring/summer.

You know. You are right. You are what your record says you are. We lost 2 out of 3 to them. Rex has shown a track record of being able to devise a defensive game plan that is effective against the Pats.

We need to start developing some receivers that can play with toughness. Get checked at the LOS and still be able to come off and get some space, or be able to consistently catch contested balls.

To your original point of getting over it. It is still only a few days since the loss. This team has been a very pleasant surprise, and many people are emotionally very invested in them. Loosing to a rival and loosing by playing sloppy football...its going to take some time to heal. Part of the healing is to complain on these boards.

It was a good season.

And even with the loss on Sunday, a big FU to the media that had the Pats as a 9-7 team at best.

It didn't end how we wanted it to, but it sure had it's good moments.

That's just it. And it wasn't just the media that had the 2010 Pats as a 9-7 team. There were lots of defeatists out of the gate here as well. And for some reason the less they thought of their chances then the more they expected of them after they proved them wrong by going 14-2. Hence their belief they are entitled to be even madder to have been proved wrong twice...LOL

Winning one or two playoff games doesn't change the fact that only one team goes undefeated in the second season, everyone else comes up short. Those who don't get that should contemplate becoming Seahawk fans or something... Me, I'd rather take solice in being a fan of a team that had the best record in the regular season before coming up short than any team from among the other 31 who manages one or two or even three playoff game wins this season. Particularly when that team clearly isn't playing in a limited window based on track record, age, roster, draft picks and finances. They've been built to be competitive consistently. I'll save my whining for following the first couple of sub .500 seasons they inflict on us.

I'm pretty sure most of those that are ripping, insulting and questioning the effort, intellignence and heart of the team for losing in the playoffs are the same ones that were telling us in August the Jets were better and we woukd be lucky to break .500.
I've lerned that the complainers are going to have the same complaint every time you fall short. They just pull it out when its time,

Funny how in another thread you basically guaranteed me that the Patriots would win the Super Bowl....

I find it strange how some of you guys can have the mentality of "ah well, it was a good run, get over it". I don't even live in the New England area and I still live and breathe Pats football almost year-round. And then with all the build-up to this game, all the hatred towards the Jets, you can just turn around in one day and say sh*t happens? I put way too much into this team to be able to instantly accept this kind of choke. Wish I could though... maybe I just need more to do in my life lol

That's the key. See, they aren't going to win every year. No team does. Most don't win in a decade or four... Yet if their fans really are fans and not just sports as entertainment consumers they move on and hang in even though they rationally or irrationally believed they should have won it all and are disapointed or flat out berserk they didn't. These players invest way more into this than any of us fans, which is also why it gauls some of us so much to see pwople who sit on their ass behind keyboards and watch from their couch or even invest recreational dollars in attending games call them names and insult them worse than any troll.

Well said, I am going thru the same emotions here in the enemy land. "Rebuilding" is a nice consolation but the way the team managed to abruptly end the best possible route to the SB and waste a golden opportunity is befuddling and aggravating.

Strangely, I would have accepted a defeat even to the Jesters had it not been for the trash talking the previous week and LadyT in their team.

And the fact that we had an extra week to prepare! Just chortles me and I doubt if I will ever let my anger and disappointment go.

I hate to write this but to be honest, I am shocked that my confidence in our team has taken a huge hit. Hope the faith comes back after a few days.

In the meantime, I am dealing with my anguish by ignoring anything to do with sports. I fear that the Jesters will defeat the Steelers and extend my misery for some more time. So, I am bracing to be cut off from NFL until Sep and instead concentrate on work and other things.
