Stephon Gilmore's Future

Gilmore is in year three of a five year deal. He's clearly one of , if not the best, CB's in the game. Usually BB gets rid of a player a year too early rather than a year too late. But players of Gilmore's caliber rarely come along.

Should the Pats extend him before his contract is up? If not, who do you potentially see as a replacement?

I don't think they will save much extending him early unless that is something Gilmore has said to them he'd take a pay cut on. If he is offer to take a less for an early extension they should absolutely considering it. If not let him play it out a bit more.

Hes 29. I'm ok with adding a year maybe if there is a savings/space to be had but need to be careful. Can't push too much in the future. Need to see how he does after the 2020 season to really be able to make a call.
