Steelers at Jets - Do you want Mangini and company to beat the Steelers?

do I really have to pick? wouldn't a tie screw both of them?

There is no way the Steelers lose this game. At this point they are fighting to keep the #2 seed and not let Indy slip in.

The Steelers are great beaten only by the NFL power houses the 4 - 5
Broncos and the 4 - 5 Cardinals while they have beaten the playoff bound, ah
let me see, well never mind.

Why would you want the Jets to have a better 1st round draft pick than the Patriots. I hope the Jets win 4 or 5 games this year. Enough to keep them away from a great pick...and keep them away from amn easy schedule next season. In a perfect world the snitch head coach of the NY Rats will be fired mid-way through next season.

Do you realize that the Jets have to win only a single game, and the SF pick is likely to be #2. They still play the Phins again. That looks to be their only winnable game though. They will be big underdogs in their other games.

Miami needs to win 2 to have the Pats get the #1 pick in the draft. they have four winnable games, all at home in Miami. Bills, Jets, Ravens, and Bengals. So it is not impossible to see them win 2 games.

All this assumes that SF wins no more games. They have the weakest SOS of any team in the league so ties reward the SF pick.

Goodell takes it in the Ear!

I don't think I can conjure any situation where I can root for the Jets, Giants, or even the Yankees or Mets for that matter.

I don't care if they have a great #1 draft pick next year, because either:

They attempt to trade down to get better value (like we do, and will most likely do) and other teams will not budge. This if there's any value on the "coaching fraternity" being scorn on the Spygate whistleblower.

Or they use the pick. In which case, I believe Mangini will mess it up, somehow.

If anything, I would LOVE for us to have a selection right before them with SF's pick, just for the irony.

Interestingly since a Jets victory can help the Pats move up in the draft, Jets haters should embrace the thought. They'll be an embarrassment even if they win 3 games. If the Pats get the #2 pick, we can then rub it in the Jets faces come draft day and well before that. Put this Jets proposed victory in the troll bank for future use.

I think the Steelers trash them in this game anyway.

I'll begrudgingly root for Pittsburgh, as it is the path to less disappointment. I fully expect the Steelers to win this game. But hey, if the Jets win, that makes the Patriots' path to HFA a little easier, plus the Jets likely move down the draft board. So it's a win-win situation as far as I'm concerned.

let's be realistic, there is no way Pittsburg gets homefield advantage.

I would like Pittburg to win to make the colts get the third seed and lose the bye and have to travel.

The benefit of the Jets winnign is the San Fran pick getting better.

My vote is to worry about this year and let next year take care of itself.

Very good point. Remember that if Pitt continues to hold the #2 seed, that means the Colts don't get the bye. The bye is a significant plus in the chances to win the Superbowl. And since the Patriots have easily handled Pitt in the playoffs before I think we would prefer to face them in the AFCCG, or at least force the Colts to go through the Steelers to face us.

So if the Steelers win and Ratgini gets another humiliating loss, it's a win win for the Pats!

as much as it pains me to say it, yes. It will propel us further toward homefield and it will knock the jets down the draft order and the 49'ers up

Now that there is no chance that the jets can win the AFC east I want them to win as much as possible to lower their draft spot.

I'll be pulling for the Jests but I won't shed any tears when Pittsburgh crushes them.

It's a win-win for the pats

Jets win: higher SF pick, Steelers move further down in the playoffs seed

Pitt win: Jets lose, closer to clinching AFC East, one more week of ragging on my Jet friends :rocker:

Yah, my perspective too.
Jets, the gift that keeps on giving.

How do you figure that a Jets loss moves us closer to the division clincher ??
- Last time I looked the Jets were eliminated from the East so what does a loss of the Jets matter to the Pats? - Think about it
